Setting up my new R6ii. I too am NOT a fan of back button focus. I like the way you set up your buttons. Thanks for taking the time to talk us through all these settings!

Happy to hear that

I would love to be able to switch from taking a stationary bird to one that instantly goes into flight with a touch of a button. In your tutorial, under customize buttons, AE Lock, you choose a camera with two arrows next to the star. My R6 11, does not have the camera with two arrows. What would you suggest?

I think you misunderstood. The camera with the arrows is the function that you assign to the AE Lock button. It’s not a button itself

Hi Fabian Thank you so much for this video. I tried many settings including the back button focus and seriously think your settings makes the most sense. One thing I notice was the manual focus override. With other setting I was able to turn my manual focus ring when not pressing any button and it will fine tune the focus in and out as I turn it. This is very helpful if both the subject detection and single point are failing. However I don't know in your settings where I can turn that on? When I turn the manual focusing ring nothing is happening. Did I miss anything?

With which lens is this? With some lenses it unfortunately only works with back button focus (no idea why though)

Great job Fabian. I shoot the r6mk2 with ef 100mm to 400mm version 2 adapted. I find that when shooting birds in flight and the trees and brush along the shoreline is just behind the predator bird eye tracking is a freaking nightmare. And sometimes just trying to use regular spot focus even staying on subject results in soft images. Alot of the time. Frustrating!!

I never had these issues. But in most scenarios I shoot, there is a lot of distance between the bird and the background
