Sir I've been doing bjj for 18 months and I'm in my late forties. My coach & the young guys I train with think I'm a natural lol, but it is your videos and the fine details that I study then take that into class. Create tension that's excellent, racketing the arm across, &no need to put leg over the head. You r a master teacher keep the videos coming please!

I liked this... thanks! Especially how to set them up. I always fight to keep the guy's head pulled down, but I should be looking for a triangle or kimura.

Thank you for creating the excellent videos. I really like the realistic setup and details you have provided here. I have felt this type of setup/control while rolling with some of the higher level players at my gym. I'll definitely be working on some of these details for my triangle/armbar.

Oss!!

i have a question in street fight the opponent will be aggressive and will be looking forward to do as much as damage that he can do... so how can I break his posture or how to put the triangle setup?
@MMALeech7 жыл бұрын
It's all about how you manage the distance between you and your opponent. You can't afford to play closed guard if you don't have his posture broken down, in that case, you would have to open your guard stepping on his hip to manage the distance and avoid the punches. The more he tries to punch you, the more he has to lean forward, giving you the opportunity to clinch and break his posture down, provided that you know how to block the punches in the process.

The gracies have a great series of videos on the guard for street fights/mma. Punch block series it's called.

MMA Leech thank you answering the question I always struggled with is if they're more agressive how to break their posture but to be honest I don't have much stand up game or arm strength but tons of leg strength and flexibility so pulling gaurd is my best option lol

When doing the first triangle, why does the guy in black put his left arm in and under the right leg? What does this achieve? From a novice looking in seems like it would become a weakness?
@MMALeech2 жыл бұрын
It helps to get the angle for the choke, plus preventing opponent's stacking defense.

Can anybody help me with the triangle? Me and my buddy are training this and we have noticed that as soon as the person setting up the triangle is grabbing the leg there is a chance to get our opposite leg down on the mat which leads to a fall and prevents the triangle. Is there anything we are missing? Thx in advance
@MMALeech6 жыл бұрын
He may fall because he is out of balance, follow him to top mount and finish from there.
@wiser.kinder.calmer.65307 жыл бұрын
Why do you put you arm behind his knee for the triangle?
@MMALeech7 жыл бұрын
You don't have to, but it helps with keeping the angle for the choke, and prevents some of his escapes like stacking or walking around.

I got in this situation in a fight once I had one arm in the triangle set but he flipped me and broke it. I was confused he tackled me and i suplexed him into a table. But how do I keep someone from flipping me
@MMALeech7 жыл бұрын
Step on his hip to keep the distance.
@kevinmalone50017 жыл бұрын
MMA Leech so hook the leg and step on his hip? you should make a video on that because I was in that life threatening situation it would be helpful to others too
@MMALeech7 жыл бұрын
You got flipped probably because he was able to stack you from that position, so stepping on his hip keeps him away, unable to stack you. The leg over his shoulder stays in place, the leg under his armpit steps on his hip. That's the counter for the stacking. If he tries to pick you up and slam you after you have locked the triangle, then the counter for that is hooking his leg with your arm, so he can't pick you up.
@kevinmalone50017 жыл бұрын
yeah thanks I will practice that in open mat
