Hey guys, enjoy your lessons. Lots of good lessons for majority. With this lesson , my question is I find most every great player the hand path moves straight down for the initial few inches on ds not out at all. Also, most people will if they try to hit the wall on ds behind them will pull handle to rather line to do so, can you help me understand my perception vs what your telling is here?? One more is a theory I have messed with and see what you think. By pushing handle left hand on top of grip like getting them to hinge, right hand opposite. This forces the shaft to shallow at top try it sees what you think. Dale

My first time back on the driving range actually gave me a big break-through. I've been trying to shallow my arc for years now, because it tends to be a bit steep (in both back and downswing). So last practice I tweaked just one little thing. At address, I turned the clubhead clockwise to around two o'clock (opening the face), and kept that feeling in the backswing. For me this greatly flattens my path both in back- and downswing. Removing my slice and greatly improving my contact and consistency. Curious if you guys understand what I mean, and could maybe even give it a whirl. :-)
@shanedeel22 жыл бұрын

@@shanedeel2 well since this post I've learned that it all boiled down to my left arm turn. So it's opening the face, but turning my left arm 45degrees clockwise in the backswing. There's a lot of tutorials on this subject that can explain this way better than I can. ☺️

Rather few coaches teach Moe Norman swing, which is one-planer without significant shallowing presented in the down swing. It is simple back and forth motion, which I think would be most repeatable for high handicappers or beginners. Not as efficient though as a throwing motion, but accurate even sith the longer shafted clubs. Have you studied the swing of Bryson DeChambeau? I think he is one of the few, if not the only current tour pro doing it.

84 is my best round of the year so far but recently had a horrible blowup 9 holes. I'm curious about whether this swing is only good for woods or can it be used for an iron shot out of the fairway/rough? I realize it's hard to talk about everything when you're focused on the mechanics of this requested swing but I didn't hear anything about using this swing in other full swing scenarios.

My main issues so far are: My woods/driver are struggling for directionally - I could be aiming for the one of the two bunkers on the left but I'll end up by the bunker on the right hand side My putting has been really inconsistent My pitching is a lot better (cheers) but should the speed that you bring back the club with be the speed that you follow through with?

I’ve noted on my swing videos that I can shallow the club easily with no golf ball present but when there is, my trail hand (right) pushes the left hand, leading to a more vertical position. I’ve been trying to correct this with little success until yesterday when I adopted a very strong left hand grip with neutral right hand. The left hand can then resist the right without me thinking about it. Works on the range, now I will take it to the course. Any thoughts?

I tried two things these guys teach, and I am now just striping my irons; such a good feel to hit effortless high draws. It’s flattening the swing and have the bottom of the arc just in front of the ball (for irons). My three changes were; getting my grip a bit more neutral particularly on the right hand, really keeping my left wrist ‘bowed’, and working my right elbow ‘tight together’ (vs tucking it in to body). It then naturally dropped my arc flatter and made it so much smoother; felt weird as the club head really lays off, but once you get it...so nice. Hitting so much cleaner and with more feel as my right hand is more engaged and not chunking with an over the top move. It also works with a flat left wrist, flat swing, active wrists/right hand for chipping. Thanks guys; game changer for me (and I’ve been playing with my bad habits for over 50 years)!
