Your life does not need to be easier. It needs to be simpler. But what does it look like to simplify a life that feels out of control? Attachment specialist Adam Lane Smith walks you through some easy steps to streamline your days down to what actually matters. If you're looking to optimize your efforts and get back in control of your life, this video is for your.
This video is part of an ongoing series related to attachment.
Modern life has so many complications. We get caught up in work and bills and checklists that stress us out, and we struggle to find what matters. Who are you beneath the checklists? What do you want beyond the endless chores? There's so much more, and you can find it. You just need a perspective shift.
Using attachment and prioritization, Adam guides the viewer through simplifying their life and finding meaning. Because the answer lies in attachment itself. If you had stronger attachment, how would that guide your priorities? What's in the way of your attachment? And what can you do to inform your life with healthier attachment? The answers may surprise you, because they're as simple as you want your life to be. Attachment has the answer, and you can get started today.

This speaks to me. It truly does simplify my outlook on life. I always overthink, overanalyze my life, much passed the point of whatever is helpful, healthy and constructive. I will really give this a try

Fascinating work history qualifies your counsel. I'll need to listen again tho' as I was busy doing stuff, impatiently waiting for your 3 takeaways. I need to focus better on living in the present vs driving full speed ahead in my bulldozer. I'm past that stage of life, but haven't yet self-corrected.

I have two seemingly conflicting priorities in my life. 1. I want to expand my social network 2. I want to find a hobby and purpose I've started and stopped so many hobbies because they did not lead to anything and weren't particularly interesting. Currently, I have a bunch of little clubs and occasional hobbies but nothing substantial and no friends have come of it
@AttachmentAdam

Sounds like the perfect solution is to find a hobby or purpose that incorporates social networking elements so you can do the activity together with others who share that passion. That would also be a great way to make new friends who align with your desires.

@@AttachmentAdam I'm accepting any and all suggestions lol, when I want to do something it's a very manly thing like boxing (no women), when I try something more feminine, it's just not interesting to me, and everything in between, like cooking, is full of couples and/or much older people

Hi Adam, Question: Would you help me think this through. I have legacy ambitions for my career as well as desiring to have a family and kids. From what you are saying, those must not be on equal footing. One would have to be subservient to the other. Did I get that right? Does it work to have a family if your family are second to your career?
@AttachmentAdam
@AttachmentAdam 2 жыл бұрын
Putting family second to career doesn’t work because it breeds resentment as the kids learn they’re not as important. You end up reading work for legacy. But putting family first and having work supplement that, even if you work 70 hours a week, is possible because it’s done in the right order to build a long-term legacy.
