Got ROM Yes, I want to ask you something else if you would want to answer: If we have to let things go and don’t judge things, if we have to let go of the concept of good or bad, better or worst, if we have to stop this separation of mind, how can we know how to choose and act in this existence, how can we know how to live, what should guide us through life? Ty
Got ROM Intuition is simply the unconscious judgment of the mind, it is more true than thinking yes, but still based on separation of good/bad, right or wrong
@abednegomosessuryanda29505 ай бұрын
@@CapitanTavish I think we can let go of the concept of good or bad, and still live a purposeful life. The key is in the word "purposeful". Yes, you have to know your purpose. Robert Greene called this as "Life's Task" in his book Mastery, it's something that you strive to do in life, the skill(s) that you want and will hone to the level of mastery. Firstly, all of us should know what our Life's Task is. To know this, honest self-examination is necessary. We could revisit our childhood, and remember what things excited us the most, what filled us with wonder, curiosity, and energy? What seemed so magical to us that it took our attention, hypnotized us, that hours could passed by without us noticing? Another thing that we can do is to ask this question: If I don't have to work for another day in my life, what would I do? We should do things that will help us achieve our Life's Task. For example, if someone's Life's Task is to compose musical masterpieces, they will take appropriate steps that lead them closer to their goal. Their actions, attention, time, and energy will be dominated more by the things that they need to do to get closer to their ultimate goal. We would surround ourselves with similar minded people. There is more to be said about morality, but this is enough for now.

Thanks Brady! It can get tiring and painful in the long haul, at the same time your body will slowly adapt to it over time. How long have you been practicing?

@@GotROM Hi Shane, I started meditating in 2017 and try to do it daily. I went to a Vipassana retreat once and it would have been great if I had seen this then but everything happens at divine time, right? 😊

Knees under hips did this for me. Can't believe nobody talks about that, I just tried it and it's remarkable. Never was able to be stable, nevertheless comfortable. Are most people comfortable sitting down even with their hips below their knees?
@GotROM3 жыл бұрын
Most people are probably NOT comfortable until they practice a bit.

I just can't do this no matter how much I try its so frustrating , I sit on pillows I bring one foot in barely getting my knee to rest on the floor , then I bring my other foot in and my knee is just in the air lol . I literally just can't sit with legs crossed and I want to so badly !! Ughh

I see what you're saying. That's why I made this video to help some meditation practitioners what to do before getting into the pose. Check this out: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bXPdk3VumLKrh8k. Let me know if that helps you!

How's it going with your sitting practice?
@jonbranden Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for this video! I wish I had studied it before my 10-day Vipassana retreat. However, my legs and feet constantly fall asleep in this position. Would love your insight via video or comment here on how to prevent that from happening, thanks!
@GotROM Жыл бұрын
You're welcome! Alternating each side of the foot might do the trick.
@jonbranden Жыл бұрын
@@GotROM Got it, so are you suggesting alternating during the meditation itself, or from one session to the next?

@@GotROM I have been dabbling for a while, but have recently decided to get more serious about a regular sitting practice. Have had some logistical issues with posture (legs falling asleep, and back discomfort), but I want to work through that so that I can do at least 20 mins. daily and hopefully work up to 40. Really appreciate your clear instructions, blessings to you.
@GotROM4 жыл бұрын
I have some videos about desk posture and how that can be reversed. Check that out and let me know how that goes. Wow! Working up to 40 minutes? That's awesome! Mindful practice always works best. You're always welcome! Let me know if there's anything else I can do to help.
