Hi Lisa. Thanks for the feedback. We will resume uploading in the next week. Is there anything that you would like us to film in our next video?

I'd like to learn more about the different patterns and colors, etc of the bearded dragons. I recently saw some photos of newly hatched babies. A couple of them even had blue tummies. I also saw an adult beardie that was all white. Thank you.

I’m am thinking of getting a barking gecko ( underwoodisaurus mili). I was wondering what size of woodie is best for them and if you prefer them to be fed roaches instead of crickets ?
@CookiesCritters
@CookiesCritters 2 жыл бұрын
Hatchling geckos will need small woodies or crickets. As it grows it will be able to eat medium to large insects. I prefer woodies as they won’t bite the gecko while it’s sleeping.

Hi where can you get the barrier stuff from please I have my dragon in a 5f fish tank is it safe to put around the top of the tank

Yes it is safe to use on their enclosures. The only issue is that it does dry a cloudy white colour. This may detract from the aesthetic of the enclosure. If you google Fluon or insect-a-stop there are plenty of online retailers that stock it. Most places that sell bulk insects also stock it.

what is the scientific name of the wood roach in the video ?
@CookiesCritters
@CookiesCritters 3 жыл бұрын
Nauphoeta cinerea - lobster/speckled roach. The name “Woodies” has stuck for what ever reason.

@@CookiesCritters Thank you for the reply. I breed Nauphoeta cinerea in the UK and my adults do not reach the size of the adults in your video. Maybe cage size or heat in Australia is better for them than what I provide.
@CookiesCritters
@CookiesCritters 3 жыл бұрын
@@degu44 it could be possible. Low Temperatures around 20 degrees C (68 degrees F) stunt their growth and development. But prolong their life span. The ideal temp is between 27-30 degrees C (80-86 degrees F). This will accelerate their growth but reduce their life span.

@@CookiesCritters I may set up a second colony to test that. I believe my temps may drop to around 22c at night, but are between 27 and 30c before the thermostat turns the heat off during the day. Thanks for your advice.

Can we have dubia roaches in Australia?

No we can’t. Talking about Dubia roaches was just to cover the international audience.

Sorting is easy until you get an actual established colony. Then ultimate pain in the ass
@CookiesCritters

I use this same method to sort my established colonies. I have 6 breeding tubs. Every now and again I need to top them up but the sorting remains the same.

@@CookiesCritters it’s a bane for me. All I have left is orange heads and death heads and those things are so productive. Maybe a heated garage would be nice. Too cold outside and frass flies everywhere!
