I've given up on selling sites like Poshmark and Mercari. Everytime I report it, Poshmark does nothing to take it down and deter these scammers! And they'll get angry when you call them out on it, and report all of your listings and cuss you on your ads. Great video! Even though it was from 3 years ago :)

You have Beautiful hair. I think I am pretty good at spotting the fake ones. But I appreciate this video, so many people are getting ripped off. I run a local selling site on facebook. One lady posted a fake coach bag. I saw it a mile away. I called her out and asked her nicely to remove the posting and that it was illegal to sell the fakes. She got so offended and next thing I know Her and her family put up a facebook page about me and posted some horrible stuff. FB removed it but I was shocked at how people could act. sigh

I know what you're saying. People are so complacent about stealing this type of intellectual property - they're actually offended when they're called out. - it's insane. Just because you can't afford or don't want to spend the money on a genuine item, that doesn't make it okay to steal it; I make no qualms here - the manufacturer, retailer, and customer are all guilty of theft.

I understand your replica vs. authentic video is meant to help us buyers know fake from real, but you're also helping the thieves make better fakes, by pointing out what's wrong and what's right. This video has probably helped make some excellent fakes with all the "authentic" looking areas. All those thieves love videos like this.

I respectfully disagree. The counterfeit enterprise is a highly funded and often government sanctioned business, and the last thing they spend time on is watching my lowly YT videos. Let me add, try as they may, they will never duplicate the quality of an authentic LV- when they do they will have whittled their profit margin down to zero. Moreover, it is up to us as consumers to know what quality looks and feels like. I am dumfounded by people who can't see the difference. Finally, some people don't care what they buy-sad.

Check Poshmark- look for a Price drop in the filter/sort, then make an offer. Ebay is great too, just stay away from the Chinese sellers, and ebay backs you up if you are not happy with your purchase. Thanks so much for watching and commenting.

Hello -- I have a question about a LV GM Bucket bag. The seam on the leather trim is not on the side and it also seems to overlap a little. The patina isn't aging for a vintage *this one with the famous sticky mess inside* I have been looking online at authentic LV and have only seen one other bag with a seam in the middle so wonder if you know if it is a sign of being fake. I would love to see a pic, I know that many of the LV vintage bags vary somewhat from year to year. I can say though that if it is the sticky lining, it may well be an authentic bag, because that was a huge issue with these bags, and Louis Vuitton was repairing them. Thanks for your question.

Thank you for your reply. I already packed it up to send back, but here is the link where I purchased. The seam I mentioned is on the second page. I actually feel like the straps and leather trim must have been replaced, but it makes no sense. Yes, I agree the straps were obviously replaced, and thats where the trepidation comes in: were they repaired at LV? Was it vachetta or a cheap imitation? NO! -- On many smaller items, SLG's, and bags that taper, this cannot be avoided. So yes you will sometimes see "LV" cut off. Worth noting, LV quality control is almost non-existent these days. I own an authentic (purchased it myself at LV) Delightful GM with canvas pattern that does not align at the seam. Most do, mine does not. And it is 100% authentic. My sunglasses case MM (ordered at LV online) had such poorly done glazing I had to exchange it in store for another one. My friend's brand new Speedy had severe wrinkling on the handles, rather than offer her a new bag LV insisted she wait 6-8 weeks to have her bag REPAIRED. (she took it back on Day 13, so she demanded a refund instead). I could go on. This of course is not the norm, but it should be the rare exception. Sadly, it's not.
