How to spot a narcissist #2: Couples Therapy (Annie & Mau)

How did this lady ever make it to 23 years with him? Omg. Well trauma bonding for one. But wow. I have a client like him and I prickle when I even see his name on the books; he’s just so impossible and haughty and hard to deal with. I see him every once in a while and can’t take it. Poor Annie. Run!

Yeah, I was commenting on another video, that first instincts is to comment how much he is a dixk, and that I would tell someone like this to go you know what, but there is something seriously wrong inside of her too, to stay with somebody like this. And, narcissists know how to control their victims or whatever one calls the people that are their subjects.

After the first session, she should have asked to meet with them separately. That's fairly common in couple's therapy, and Annie needs help. He will never change.

Yes many narcissistic tendencies but there’s also a whole lot of context and dynamics symptomatic of other equally deep seated issues.

"a lot of my encouragement...I'm not great at encouraging, I guess, it was interpreted a very different way" "as pressure?" "I think certainly easily as pressure but also, maybe even, like, even more than pressure. It could be almost viewed negatively" Is he alluding to rape? This makes me think of when Annie was talking about being sexually assaulted and sexually intimidated in the past (in the fifth video of the playlist it starts around 9:15 ) Mau says she never had a similar experience with me (around 14:01) and she replies " That's not true"

My guess is that Italy was also a bang-fest, possibly with sex workers. I cannot imagine being Annie and not leaving immediately, but she's been through years of abuse.

honestly after one sessions im sure any good therapist would know that he is a covert narcissist but its their job the keep going until they know beyond a doubt. at this point she should tell the wife …

I’ve never said this as I thought saying someone about someone’s video is inappropriate as a man Yet I feel like running the video first instead of just cutting every 30 seconds is quite annoying. I’ve never went to the movie theater and had the film stop every minute. That would be hard on most if you were invested to see what the film was even about

Don’t get me wrong, I actually do like this, but, if I interrupt it’s because I’m narcissistic, and if I don’t it’s also because I’m narcissistic? I think I saw this on bugs bunny once, heads I win, tails you lose. Hmmmm. Let me see where this is going, but I may just start a red flag store.

He both interrupts or refuses to talk by turns to control the situation. And he's basically raped his partner by coercing her into sex she did not want.
