Having a huge and strong back is one of the best things a body builder or a person in general could have. A solid back opens you up and allows full expression of your other muscles. And you look jacked + feel like the ultimate bad ass

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing.. was checking the comments to see if anyone might have mentioned that his form was off. I'm more speculating but I think it might be better to stop when your arms reach the top of your chest.. just from trying the motion (..sitting at my computer..) it seemed like if I went all the way to my chin, I stopped feeling it in my back and I couldn't keep my shoulder's tight.

@barrettrifles Why? Doing shoulder extension actually rotates the lower part of scapula so that serratus actually stretches during this exercise (it does a bit of exentric isotonic musclework though when returning the move and inhaling). Benchpressing with your shoulders only isolates Serratus Anterior

You were well spoken and displayed the exercise perfectly and the camera work was pretty good however you might want to mention in the title or at least one of the first things you say in the video what muscle it works. I think most would be scrolling four back exercises or bicep exercise, not cable pushdown or curls. Just my two cents worth, keep up the good work

it´s a fine exercise, but it´s also very important to get a muscle-mind link from the first rep to really hit the lats; if if you find it useless, I bet you are not doing it well.

This movement helps strengthen our back to prepare for the muscle up ? Not even able to do the kipping muscle up yet, current level of 8-10 strict pullups to the chest, 15-20 straight bar dips. . . Still need more explosive pulling power and height . . So is it the strength or technique or both ? Thanks

@BLONDASS123 Dorian Yates used to do them. I dont think they are useless. Not a core exercise obviously, but works your lats specifically quite good. But you need to focus on the muscle you are training, i.e. lats, not on the form of the exercise or the weight. Then you ll like it.
@HollerAtcherBoi
@HollerAtcherBoi 5 жыл бұрын
The only thing about this video is that he says to go up to chin level, it’s better to go higher and to lean into it a bit more because you get a much better stretch, hence more full range of motion. I lean a bit more and go to to top of my head for stretch. Talk about pump... Of course, if you have any injuries then you need to do what’s comfortable.

thats normal as triceps are worked as a secondary muscle. thats like saying your triceps get sore from bench pressing which could be normal as well

Might be going to heavy. Try doing chin ups or rows first activate lats. But if you go too heavy your arms might be doing most of the work
@JTBCOOL1
@JTBCOOL1 8 жыл бұрын
Maybe, I do not have form breakdown when I do go heavier when doing these. So, I do not bend my arms like tricep pushdowns. However, I still have been using this in my exercise routine and my lats are friggin getting big and meaty. No failing on getting my lats sore using this exercise and mixing up the weights when doing it. Total of 4 sets: 2 lighter than heavier, 1 moderate, and 1 heavy or something like that.
