Many people still confuse 'attachment' with 'love'. Attachments are about fear and dependency, and have more to do with love of self than love of another. Love without attachment is the purest love because it isn't about what others can give you, because you're empty. It's about what you can give others--because you're already full. @yasminmogahed

@zion3673 жыл бұрын
@@BrokenPanda93 Yes, true. The disappointment comes from the standart i have set for myself to be, instead of accepting who i truely am. I took the embarrasing step to message my friend and confess my emotions and we actually had a great conversation about it. I think the awareness and not hiding them was already a great first step. Shining the light on them and accepting them. In my case it is about sexual pleasure... I came to the conclusion a while ago that if i love myself, i am not able to let others use my body to escape their unhappines anymore. Even tho these "others" are good friends. I realised that every time i engage in such acts, i sell myself short. But now i notice a jealousy whenever i hear one of my friends talk about their adventures. This is so silly because they do something that i grew out of (done it for so long so i know it is not in service of my highest self) and yet i experience jealousy. Like.... how can you even solve this? Thank you for your loving words. How are you doing now with your own jealousy?

I'm an artist but I always feel like I'm jealous of other's art. It really ruins my motivation to keep going on...I know that they work hard too, but if jealousy was something that was easy for me to handle I wouldn't have to be commenting this right now. At first, I try to think of them in a positive light, like "wow, they have a nice personality!"...but I decided to stop because I don't truly feel it, deep down, I'm jealous of them so I feel bad that I'm jealous of them too. Nowadays, I just accept it, that it is impossible to stop being jealous of others. It's human nature. I just accept it, analyse why I'm jealous and move on. Also, I'm pretty introverted so I don't really have that much need for people to give their attention to me, I don't care what people think of my art...but something confusing in me happens. I get jealous of other's art because I don't like my own art enough. I just don't know how to nowadays.

this comes from an ex artist.. I was also very jealous of others art, and especially of their tools and stuff.. but now (it‘s been 4 years) i realize that every art ist beautiful and there is no ‚better artist‘ or something, because the most beautiful in it is, that literally EVERY ART is individual.. and comparison is just very wrong in this place. The only competition is yourself, what do you want to create next? what do you want to change? but there is no ‚better‘ art, there is only art you can be even more proud of. Because it is only yours

Through the course of a relationship, you're bound to end up in situations where your spouse talks to people of the opposite sex. A great quality I've always carried is that, because I trust my significant other, I utilize pride in that situation. Sure, she'll talk to people on occasion that want to get in her pants, but I don't worry. I'm proud that she's mine in that moment. Because I carry myself strongly and confidently. My view has always been that, don't worry about your spouse and the opposite sex. Consider that if they were to cheat, your decision is simple... move on and move up. Sure, there's heart break, but you have to know that your self worth is so much more than that. This is a great video, and I enjoyed watching it because my GF is the very jealous type. I hope it'll help her understand herself better.

Tinkerbell Look at your friend as to not being one of your possessions. He is your friend and will always be your friend even if he's not physically there 100% of the time. Also take responsibility for your feelings. You can turn your world upside down with just a thought and it's absolutely frightening at first the power you get from this. Instead of thinking "Why is my friend not with me always ?" think "What can I do good for my friend ?". Even if he's not there, even if he can't repay you the good deed. Friendship is all about connection and not possession. This took me years to understand and now I have finally come to this conclusion. This is because happiness comes from the inside. And doing good things creates happiness. Then turn to you and look inside. Why am I jealous ? Do I have something to lose if my friend has other friends as well ? What makes me happy when I'm with my friend ? Replace possession with appreciation of the things you do together, and do not focus on the things you might have done and thus create false expectations. I hope this can help you. I've repaired a friendship that was at the brink of ending after more then 20 years.

We work together and she is very loved by our colleagues and a lot of them are being very friendly to her. The logical part of my brain knows that she has the right to have other fiends, but at the same this makes me feel scared of loosing her. Off course she doesn't know what i am facing, I tried to tell her but i fel it would be so embarrassing. I dont like to be vulnerable. She is a loyal person and she deserves the best...i don't want to be a toxic friend and i don't want to keep experiencing negative emotions.

A while ago I discovered on my own some of the techniques you mentioned here on how to end jealousy. My technique pretty much comes down to this: I notice a tinge of jealousy towards someone, and, before the jealousy gets any worse, I tell the person right away that I'm resentful of them for whatever it is I'm jealous of, and that I don't like them anymore. It usually gets a laugh from that someone and myself. After the laugh, i compliment them on what they have and cheer for their success or luck. I find that Jealousy and Admiration are two sides of the same coin, so why not turn that negative emotion into a positive one? Admiration is more "filling' as opposed to Jealousy's "emptiness," if that makes any sense. Wonderful Video Leo!

Honestly yes ofc it does help. That’s why I said I have to keep coming back.Another thing that helps me with jealousy is to just call myself out on it in my head in the moment and automatically I remind myself the world is abundant. There’s plenty of whatever emotion I feel I’m lacking in the moment to go around. And I remind myself this persons success or praise or whatever does not make me any less than them and that we get what we give... ya know... if I want people to be happy for me when I succeed I need to be happy for them too.

It's simple. If your comfortable in your own skin and with your partner, You both work hard on keeping a great relationship then the jealously won't come into mind because your working together as a team to make each other happy and content.

I hate jelousy, it makes me just want to,end my life? I don't know, I freaking hate it, when someone else hangs out with my "best friend" who makes me cry, cut, angry, confused, and worthless, but I still some how get jelous when she's with someone else???? I hate her, but the second she says "hi" to me, I completely forgive her and forget about everything around me. Like what the hell is going on with me?? I only have 3 friends, and I'm scared to stand up for myself because if I do, she'll talk to all of her friends and make them put me down and tell me why I was making her cry or some crap. But then when shes hanging with other people , I get jelous and start crying, like what's my problem??!!!

i was jealous that someone was replacing me, spending all of their time with my best friend till the point my best friend put me second. Yes this makes me sad and in the moment I was going to act in jealousy but I took a step back and didn't react to my best friend ditching me to hang out with this other person. Like you , I wanted to cut my friend to let her see she needed me, but as I tried to do that it hurt so awfully that I finally realised I needed her as much or perhaps more than she needed me. So I guess we have to deal with our reality.. It’s just tough when your waking thoughts are preoccupied with someone you can’t have . But anyway. As you say, better to be second than last. And we all need special friends in our life ... in whatever order they may be in.

Jealousy has gotton the better of me. My best friend is beautiful! She has a boyfriend, she is gorgeous, she is pretty much PERFECT! It is so hard to be around her because I feel invisible. Each and every one of my friends are beautiful and I just feel like I don't fit in anywhere. My best friend (Ella) is amazing. She can, sing, dance, she's pretty, she's super skinny and I just feel like everyone would pick her over me. I am also a very emotional person and every night for mist nights I go up to my bedroom and have a meltdown. She also slips bits of nastiness at me making it seem like a joke but I can tell that it's not. I know that I am slightly overweight and I know that I am not gorgeous, I also know that other people know that too and I feel like everyone secretly doesn't like me :( I feel alone.

Envy is wanting what another person has whilst hoping it is taken away from them. Jealousy is wanting what that person has. Jealousy does have many branches which are better defined in Arabic.
@ElCangri1378 жыл бұрын
Envy and jealousy are two totally different things. Envy is wanting something someone has and wanting to take it away from them in order to make them unhappy. Jealousy is being protective of what you ALREADY HAVE. Jealousy has nothing to do with what someone ELSE has but all to do with what YOU have. Envy is wrong. Jealousy is not.
@ElCangri1378 жыл бұрын
+ElCangri137 Envy is basically another word for covetousness and is usually accompanied by malice. Jealousy is territorial protectiveness and is usually accompanied by love for it. We aren't just jealous over our lovers, we can be likewise jealous over our children as well.

This video came at a very appropriate time for me, when I was experiencing a particularly high amount of jealousy in life as two of my close friends have started dating (I am single). I grew intensely jealous of their relationship and it manifested into a form of self pity, anger, and most of all a desire for pity from other people. Luckily because I've been practicing consciousness for a while, I was able to pin down on these emotions and locate the root of them. The interesting thing about jealousy is that it actually does the opposite of what it seems it will do for you. When I was experiencing jealousy towards my friends and their relationship, I thought that feeling would somehow help me find a relationship or fuel me to get to work. But the funny thing is, it's secretly working against you. That jealously created neediness and attachment and scarcity, and I felt like I needed to find a relationship that instant. Once I noticed my jealousy, of course it was still there, but I was able to acknowledge that these emotions were actually working against me. I still have this jealousy but I'm more aware of it and how it's negatively affecting me, and once it subdues I'm certain it'll, on the contrary, make me more attractive and successful with women (among other things, hehe).

He barely turned 28 and I'm 33 so at first in the relationship I didn't care I was not jealous at all and didn't care if I lost him because I didn't know him much. Now I love him a lot and dislike some of his habits and stuff he watches. I don't to be this way and I feel like I've lost my confidence...I'm going to try your advice. Another thing I didn't want to be in a relationship when I met him and now I feel so close to him. We're thinking about liveing together and making plans. Thank you

Footnotes: Observe when you are jealous, label it, use mindfulness to observe it, keep jealousy log, fix your insecurities first, be happy on the inside first, look for the root/deeper of the jealous feeling, look at your self-image ideas, do self-esteem work, set ego aside, learn about ego and how its an illusion.

You mis-defined jealousy. You described envy. Jealousy is when you're afraid that someone will take something away from you due to perceiving the other person as better than you. Envy is seeing someone who you perceive to be better than you, and wishing that you were better than them. It's an honest mistake since they are often intertwined. It's also not a great idea to use the word you are trying to define in the definition.
@jasminegulliver32506 жыл бұрын
Envy is like walking down the street and seeing someone more attractive than you and wishing that you were as attractive as them. Jealousy is seeing someone flirt with your SO and feeling worried that they will leave you for this person.

I probably still have a scarcity mindset, but I realized even before watching this that jealousy was just suicidal. The turtle analogy is apt. Basically: I was worried that I wasn't dominant enough compared to one of my girlfriend's exes. And that hurt a lot because it was like pouring acid on my ball of bullshit that I was using to jack myself up and motivate myself to develop sexual skills whenever I compared us. But I realized that every time I got jealous, I just fell further and further behind, withdrawing and punishing my partner. I made myself even MORE of a joke, and compared even LESS favorably to him, and I just realized that unless I wanted more acid, the only way out was through. But I still have a scarcity mindset. I think there are things out there that are good, and they are limited, and while you can probably be happy at any level of having things after you adjust 3 months to the loss, I'd rather have the desirable things. Like... it is not good to have 50,000$ of debt versus, say, owning a house. It causes chaos, misery, lack of career flexibility, and forces you to stay stuck. Jealousy is the wrong response. But urgency is an appropriate response. I recommend to the people watching this, it's good advice, but if it seems too pie-in-the-sky, start by replacing jealousy with urgency. Think about how much more failure you're going to have to mentally shit-shovel away after the consequences of your tantrum. Ask yourself, how much future do you have? Do you really have the time and resources for your tantrum? Is sassing things or people that threaten your ball of bullshit really worth the time that you could be spending actually, incrementally, slowly, living up to your ball of bullshit?

Excellent vid, my personal notes: Jealousy is low vibration energy. It is a barrier to inner peace. It is never ending fallacy as there is always someone to be jealous of. Feel and be aware the emotion of jealousy as it happens. This awareness will autocorrect it. Find the Truth behind the jealousy. Maybe it’s the fear of me being alone, rejected, losing someone, feeling like a failure, wasting life, etc. Deal with the core fear. Make the decision not to be jealous. It is not acceptable to a Highminded Man. -Kevin
