Thank you David & Alex. The reason why I often fall into the trap of catastrophizing and being in sudden anxiety is because I lived in a dysfunctional family in which violence was considered normal. Thanks for sharing about the golden thread process. I keep assuring myself that what happened long ago is already dead past and now I am responsible for the life I lead.

Once I came to the realization that I am the creator of my emotions I understand I have a choice! The abused little girl didn't have a choice. Amazing how GENEROUS you both are. True spiritual teachers!

Perfect timing! I had a situation today that had me feeling anxious all day. I said something stupid, or I decided it was stupid because of the reaction of the two people I was with. I obsessed about my stupid comment all day and my worries even kept me awake. What’s worse is I became so annoyed with myself for obsessing that I started obsessing over that too! After watching this video, I realized the reason I was so worried about the comment I made is because the other people’s reaction made me think they would no longer like me, so I was really afraid of rejection. (It seems so juvenile now that I write it out.) I recognize this is a common issue for me but why? I kept asking why until I remembered how horrible my first days of school were. So horrible that I developed a real fear and dislike of school, which I now realize is really a fear of rejection. I did not make friends at school. In fact, the other kids made fun of me, teasing me relentlessly, until I cried, over and over again. So I ask myself now, “So what?” What if these people today don’t like me anymore because of my comment? The actual comment wasn’t that bad, and was actually made out of the goodness of my heart. I decided if these people really did change their feelings for me because of that comment, then they aren’t really people I want as friends anyway. They know me well enough to know who I am, and I’m a good person! I’m going to stop worrying about rejection. I can survive it! Thank you so much for this video! 😊

Thank you both from my heart❤ when you were talking at the end about how also the family suffers when the IC always creates new excuses I directly thought about my mother who tormented me for so long and always wanted something from me and always had excuses when I made it possible for her. And now I also try to control many things have fears and anxiety although I always go against them and do the things because I don't want to end up like my mother. But it is really exhausting 😓😔 My childhood consisted of one constant insecurity. It is really hard work to retrain the habits and thoughts... I will do more of your exercises 😊

Hi Evelknevel1209, Thank you for sharing such a personal and heartfelt reflection. It sounds like you’ve made tremendous strides already in recognising and understanding how these patterns have shaped your journey. Retraining those habits and thoughts, especially when they are rooted in a childhood full of insecurity, is indeed challenging work. But the strength you’ve shown by facing your fears and taking action speaks volumes about your resilience. In Wu Wei Wisdom, we often talk about shifting from “controlling” to “accepting” the present moment. When you focus on gently understanding and accepting where you are now, you may find that this approach brings more ease into your life. Each small step in retraining these habits is a victory and moves you closer to living with greater freedom and clarity. Keep going with the exercises, and trust in the progress you’re making. You’re on a remarkable path. Kind Regards, David facebook.com/groups/wuweiwisdomcommunity/ P.S. Exciting News! I'm launching David's Journal, my free newsletter where I'll share deeper insights into Wu Wei Wisdom, Taoism, and my personal journey. I am unsure if this is the right place to ask a question. I trust people easily and get disappointed in the end, almost like a naive/childlike innocence. How can I use the golden thread method and find out the root cause of my inner child trustIng people so quickly?

I catastrophize mostly of the accident scene and all i healed by its coming again... then i fear that if we think so much of anything it will come true I'm in anxiety now

Don't us Brits spell catastrophising with an "s" rather than a "z"? Just a random observation lol
