Dr Berg you are a life saver. I'm in South Africa and so addicted in listening to your videos. Your videos are so helpful to me. I was diagnosed with endometriosis and haemorroghic ascites 10 years back. Last month I noticed my stomach was distended and my abdomen was painful when I pee. My period lasted 2 weeks and I thought I had fibroids or my ascites is back. I then CHANGED my diet. I stopped eating anything with sugars. Stopped dairy (cheese, milk, yogurt,eggs). I started drinking mint tea with fresh ginger and turmeric. Some days made hot lemon tea. I then reduced my meals to 2 a day. Today my stomach is as flat as a pancake. I can't believe looking at it. Thank you.

Oh my gosh! You are so right about the vegan thing! I am just leaving being a vegan after two years… I had health problems and actually went to a doctor that said to be vegan. I had so much gas it was unbelievable! My gut was constantly churning and I sounded like an elephant. Now that I am eating a more keto diet, I’m not perfect, the gas I haven’t even noticed! I simply do not understand how some doctors are all go vegan while others read the same data and are all go meet-based. It’s a quandary to me.

Perhaps visit a nutritionist who is knowledgeable about vegan diets. If you became vegan for ethical reasons- animal cruelty for instance- those circumstances haven't changed. The unimaginable cruelty and harm to the environment still persist. You don't have to compromise your values for your health. Fennel and ginger mix well with certain soups and stews that might contain other gaseous ingredients, like onions and garlic, to reduce gas. Teas with mint are helpful supplements too. Probably the most effective and simplest approach is ensuring adequate stomach acid with apple cider vinegar. Dr. Berg, I just want to share that about 20 yrs ago, I discovered that the ONLY time I ever get gas is when I mix protein & starches in the same meal. And that's ANY starch, altho' greens & other low-carb veggies do not cause this & can be mixed with either protein or starches without forming gas. But mixing legumes w the two together results in copious amounts of gas in my gut. And this is true even when consuming any legume! If I have the legume in a meal with greens or other non-starchy veggies, I DO NOT get gas from it, whereas if I have it w any sugar or starchy carb, the gas is just as intense as it's reputation would lead one to expect! Hopefully this can be helpful for somebody.😉
@deedeeseecee92942 жыл бұрын
There's a book titled "Fit For Life", I think that's the title but it's all about food combining for better health.
@cherylh46882 жыл бұрын
@@deedeeseecee9294 I actually have that book, DeeDee, altho' I haven't looked in it for probably 25 yrs & only then for it's recipes. But the food combining issue began to be important to me while I was following the rules in another book - "The Body Ecology Diet" (BED). But altho' the rules were more complex than just not combining proteins & starchy carbs, that's the only one that stuck w me, and that's only bcz of the unexpected side benefit of no gas, lol! Btw, I just realized I made a typo in my original comment. I said combining legumes with "starches" resulted in gas, but I meant to say combining it w proteins, since it is, itself, a starchy carb. So combining it w other starches and/or low-carb veggies does NOT result in gas. Gas results only when I combine legumes (or other starches or high carb foods, incl fruit) with proteins (like milk, cheese, meat, eggs, etc.). Hope that clears up any confusion.

I see great humor behind your serious tone and that makes it all the more real to watch your videos. Thank you for all of your education Doc.

Let me tell you I was doing • Betaine hydrochloride • Apple cider vinegar and lemon, fresh lemon in tea every day... my bloating and belly went down.. then I skipped it for three days!! My stomach is achy... bloated again. I intermittent fast 12 to 15 hours off a day too! I need that BHCA ... especially since I moved to an area without sidewalks! I watched a video of a woman who had horrible reflux and she started drinking plantain tea. Plantain is a “weed” commonly found in most backyards. Her reflux went away almost immediately. She still drinks the tea a couple times a week to keep it at bay, but has been pretty much symptom free ever since.

Everything I have tried from you has worked 💪🏽 and I've only tried minor things such as eating one to two Brazilian nuts that contain selenium to help with my alopecia and unhealthy scalp. 😅 I started mid summer after trying everything I could even a steroid scalp shot that I didn't want but my doc who gave it to me...after no hair growth for a year ...I found your video about hair growth ✨️ and to think you had many remedies and my lazy self only did the Brazilian nut everyday and it works. My scalp is healthier and my hair all grew back in the areas I was struggling with for a year in less than a month or so. My hair is shinier. I still struggle with mild scalp itch, but that's bc I sometimes forget to eat the Brazilian nuts for a few days or a week and lack discipline in caring for my scalp. I'm a single parent always doing everything alone so sometimes I neglect myself. Eating 1 to 2 pieces of Brazilian nuts is quick to do and you don't need much given they cost. Thank you Dr. Berg! Protect Dr. Berg! He is actually saving lives and helping people get healthy without so many doctors vists or instead of trying to keep us sick!!

I used to be on a high dosage of klonopin for anxiety for many years. About 15 years ago I had to do 20 days in jail and the med staff essentially took me off the klonopin cold turkey. That sent me into massive withdrawal and damn near killed me. Ever since then I have immense flatulence. It's never gone away no matter what I do.

Really great advice. I just wish I wasn't so confused. I have severe osteoarthritis, cardiomyopathy, I'm pre-diabetic, fibromyalgia in my lower legs, mild diverticulitis, chronic frequency, insomnia, chronic depression (well managed) and flatulence. To say I'm lost and confused is an understatement. I have a lot of living to do but all I think about is that death is getting closer and I wonder if I’ll wake up in the morning. Hence the depression.

Great videos. I finally diagnosed the reasons behind my low BP and body ache issues which no doc could do so far. May God bless you. Vinegar is best for the functioning of our body system. Have before meals. And do not mix it with honey. Vinegar destroys honey. And of course no dairy with vinegar.

I became vegan almost 5 years ago and I’m rethinking it now watching your videos and just paying attention to my body I feel like I’m missing out on too many important nutrients. Also about three years ago I found out that I had a terrible gluten intolerance by trial of elimination I was able to come to that conclusion. I think what I will do is incorporate Fish, the Omegas are very important but I’ll never go back to dairy or meat.

My unsolicited advice when considering diet: get off KZbin and listen to your body and values and bloodwork, it took me a while to get there. A little bit of Greg Doucette stops the overthinking. Humans are greatly adaptable beings, we all know what healthy eating is. The RDA isn't contrarian science, some pages are *cough*

Hey! I'm a vegetarian and I relate to your problem about gluten intolerance, didn't realize until recently though! I have a few simple solutions which might help: eating egg provides a lot of the fats and protein which you are looking for and spinach/broccoli a lot of vitamins. Add in walnuts and hemp seed if you need the Omega-3's without a supplement

Excellent video. Perfect timing as well. A suggestion for a future topic- peanut/tree nut allergies and the science behind how the immune system attacks such invaders. Many folks (in the general public) are insensitive to these life threatening allergies. Educating is everything and who to do it best, Dr. Berg!

Yes, he made at least one video on peanut allergies. He made videos on autoimmune issues too. Some are easier to find on his website or by asking his staff.
