Video Summary:
Worry is embedded deep into our psyche, but it is as annoying and useless as an ear worm. The propensity to catastrophize and imagine worst case scenarios needn't hamstring you. You can learn to loosen worry's hold on you.
First, accept the futility of worry. It does nothing constructive. It steals your time and energy by making negative chaos in your head. Worry makes nothing better, and more often than not, makes it worse. It only FEELS like you're actually doing something.
How does one worry less? Your belief that worry is unavoidable is a limiting belief. The amount of time you spend worrying will decrease drastically just by deciding that you can and should worry less. Once you accept the negative consequences of worry, you'll then find yourself interrupting the behavior, at least briefly, throughout the day.
Substituting positive visualizations for negative ones can also substantially decrease time spent worrying. Switch your motivation to visualize positive outcomes, not the avoidance of negative ones. For unrepentant worriers, scheduling a time to worry, thus postponing worry to only a short designated time each day, will also conserve your mental resources.
Our society still needs prudent individuals who can foresee problems, but worry doesn't advance that cause.

From a website I found awhile ago ""It makes no sense to worry about the things you have no control over, because if you have no control over them, it makes no sense to worry about them. And also, it makes no sense to worry about the things you do have control over, because if you have control over them, it makes no sense to worry about them. And there goes everything that it is possible to worry about. Either you have control or you don't, and worry is just a waste of your precious, present moments."

Some notes I took while watching: 1. Believe Worry is useless and no longer empowering 2. Focus on what you can do and not the worst case scenarios 3. Focus on the best case scenario 4. Being Aware of the worrying; 5. thought replacement; good visualization; positive “worrying” “what if I do great?” Etc.

I worry so much. I worry about tests, what people think of me, how well I'm gonna do in something, etc. I'm just like anybody else right? I watched this video and flipped all why worrying just like he said. I try to only worry about things that I can control. I can't control what others think of me, so I don't care. Just little things like that. The point is, this video has really helped me change the lifestyle I used to believe as worrying, and started being positive and uplifting towards others. Thank you so much for this video!

Thanks! "Reptilian Brain" is from Dr. Paul MacLean's Triune Brain model. His model of the brain says that we have 3 brains, not 1. You have the conscious logical human brain, the emotional mammalian brain, and the primitive reptilian brain. The reptilian brain is your brain stem. It works automatically, unconsciously. It evolved millions of years ago and all it cares about is your survival and reproduction. It doesn't care how happy you feel or whether you're stressed with worry. This may be okay for reptiles, but unfortunately (or fortunately) we humans have higher aspirations than just survival and sex, so this mechanism tends to backfire on us. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triune_brain

I have a serious case of OCD. I am unable to control my thoughts and usually when people who give my advice, tell me to stop thinking negatively it only makes my mental scenarios worse as well as their effects on me. I know the importance of positive thinking in life and the products of such mentally has benefitted me before. But for some reason, this time around, I have experienced much trouble truly believing. However, with the exercise explained in this video about flipping around my thoughts when any negative idea pops in my head: it has really eased my anxiety and worry towards my current major fear. I'd like to thank you for posting this video. I have subscribed and look forward to many more!

Over worrying is something I've struggled with for so long, it's the root of my panic attacks and most of the problems in my life. I describe it to people as if there's a little person sitting on my shoulder and whenever I can think logically about something they whisper is my ear 'yeah... but what if?'. People are slow to reply to texts, they're probably busy 'yeah... but what if they're dead? What if they hate you?'. My best friend finally meets a guy after being alone for years, I'm so so happy for her 'yeah... but what if she leaves you. What if she doesn't have time for you anymore. Now you're the only single one, what's wrong with you, what if no one will ever love you' and I just completely sabotage myself by pushing people away or putting barriers up to stop myself doing things. Really trying to get better, the annoying thing is I can sit and logically think over something and reason with myself, and then that little voice comes back

Hey Leo, thank you so much for that video! I've been diagnosed with anxiety and depression since I was 18, (26 now) but for the past year haven't been on any medicine and have been using sheer will power to live my life, because I didn't like the effects of the medicine and I felt like a lab rat/zombie. This morning I've been feeling particularly anxious and I stumbled upon this video and I must say that it helped a lot! I'm a big believer in The Secret and positive thinking and the power of the mind, but I felt like I needed a refresher course and here pops up your video! Thank you Universe, lol. And thank you for your videos, I have subscribed and will continue to watch, until I have seen them all! Thank you so much for you positive encouragement and for taking the time to try and help others, such as myself.

I'm worried all the time because I have severe anxiety. Right now I'm worried because I've been playing basketball for about 8 years, and I'm most likely going to quit soon. My heart isn't in it anymore, but I'm so scared to make the actual decision and to tell all my teammates and coaches. I'm having a panic attack right now at 1 in the morning before school.

I had it for 3 years and I finally managed to control it. all you have to do guys is to slow down your brain. Our brain is like the computer chip. High usage means more thoughts. More thoughts, means more anxiety. This slowdown process needs to last at least 2 weeks. Medication is doing exactly that, it relaxes you, it slows down your brain activity, alcohol as well, but there is no need to :). I am thinking about creating a video to share my painful experience....

Hi Leo. I have just come across your videos now, at a particularly hard time in my life. I struggle, like many people, with terrible worrying and anxiety. I am very touched by the way you speak and your first hand experience with the same kind of things I do to myself, which I guess is why you deliver so well. Thank you for this video and for helping to break down for us what we could try to do to help ourselves. I know I will continue to watch your videos and do my best to adopt more positive thinking, although it is very hard of course, but having someone who clearly 'gets it', is very nourishing. Thank you

most of my life ive worried about other peoples hardships and the injustices of the world. also how to bring light to serious issues. i come from a hard town where i saw people struggling and having hard abusive lives. then i would see the contrast of how some are born into so much better life. this has plagued me my whole life from early teens on. i can say from experience that this has had pros and cons. but i could have helped the world more by being less worried and more happy. if you r worried and stressed then it causes problems fir u and those around u. try not to let the worries u see an hear in movies and media and around u bring u down. u can help more if u do better an worry less. im still trying to dig myself out of the hole i dug by worrying. this video should help if put into practice

I am publishing one of your videos every day on FB. I hear you. After about 7 videos and a meditation evening, I experienced a few moments of the most beautiful - peaceful - perfect (strong words, but true) few moments. I knew right then that I don't have to worry! I was okay and I was absolutely happy - happy is such a small word for what I felt - for those few moments. It faded quickly, no enlightening days followed, yet.....I am stronger knowing that feeling exists and utterly motivated to continue. At t he same time I find myself putting off watching the vids even though I know they are wonderful for me. Part of me won';t give me your videos - like I don't deserve them. Anyway, the only other time somethng happened to me, similarly but not the exact same, was listening to Thich Nhat Hahn THE PRESENT MOMENT. In that tape set I left my body for a few seconds, never happened again. I love to work on myself and get so much out of your videos and love your style. When the student is ready.......

This one is crucial for stage Orange development. I've burned myself out with worry to the point of getting sick today. Simply feeling through emotions didn't completely help as new unconscious worrying and chest pain was generating infinitely (only removed about 90% of it). Generating infinite good outcomes in your mind, patting your heart and feeling the Love, loving yourself and telling yourself all will be good are the lessons I took away from this episode.

Much much needed!! I just got bad medical news so hearing this video made me realize that I need to stop worrying and start living! To me worrying is way of getting ahead. When I was younger I never worried so they day I realized im not invincible and got the bad medical news I was blind sided. So then to me worrying about every scenario made me feel I was ahead so nothing could blind side me again because I already worried about it. In the end it only hurts myself more. So thanks so much for the reminder!

I’m looking to be more positive, and to convince myself that people like being around me, and that people love me and want to see me succeed. It’s really hard, harder than I think. It’s a constant spiral. I don’t always have support to get me out of spiraling, and self-sabotage. The anchor is trying to understand, I deserve love, and light.

Today 've been reading the Bob Proctors Born Rich about the power of vibration and attraction. Last few weeks i was going up and down with happynes to being sad. Every single day. Today finally when i felt bad vibrations coming up I knew already that ill be sad. But i wasnt this time and ill never be again. What i came up to, is that i had a habit which told me I cant be happy each minute, each our of my days. What i did is, i told my self "ive got the full right to be happy. And theres no reason I cant" . And its powerfull. Repeat this everytime you feel bad vibrations coming and you'll get rid of this feeling.
