Well a guy i know comes to my ice rink and he wears black leather soled Wholecut Joseph Cheaney shoes and he has no problem dressing them down with dark tan corduroy jeans, button down and navy zip neck sweater! I’d say they’re easier to dress down than the Captoe black oxford but even that can be dressed down by changing the colour of laces! Just make sure it’s not too camp in colour unless that’s your thing of course!😊

I have a pair of whole cut. The most beautiful shoes that you can buy. I got a pair in tan from England and I love it. The only problem with this kind of shoes is the ageing. When I bought it it hurt my feet for weeks. Slowly it became right and it was a dream to wear. Make sure you dont wear them every day and use shoetrees to keep them in perfect condition! Great stuff you just showed my favourite kind of formal shoes.

0:45 Minor correction. A wholecut shoe doesn't necessarily mean no seams. If the heel of the shoe has a connecting seam, it is still a wholecut shoe. There is a type of shoe that can be called wholecut seamless. They are made from one piece of leather without a connecting seam at the back. They are more desirable and more difficult to make, so may cost a little more than others.

Admittedly, I teeter-tottered on whether or not I should get wholecut oxfords. Now, I do not regret getting a couple of pairs. They are just too beautiful to pass up. I picked them up from Ace Marks.

Acemarks offers poor customer service. They did not ship the accessories from their recent holiday offers. They were initially responsive, but suddenly stopped responding after I followed up a few days later. Got wholecuts from meermin instead. Goodyear welted for USD 210 with shipping.

i am not a big fan of the wholecuts. yes they are making a lot of noise recently, but i prefer the different sections on a shoe, unless it's a chelsea boot.

I've always understood that the lacing system of a shoe determines what the shoe is. These shoes share the same lacing system as an Oxford. Wholecut would be the description of the Oxford. Much like wingtip oxfords and cap toe Oxford. The common feature among the issues types would be the lacing system. Just a thought and an opinion.

Right. All Wholecuts are Oxfords but not all Oxfords are whole cuts. A derby is when the lacing system is sewn on top of the shoe rather than under it like an oxford. This is what you're saying, correct?
