Probably my longest flight was from the U.S. west coast to Melbourne, Australia, in 1953. We stopped in Hawaii, Nadi, and Sydney to refuel. We started our travel on the U.S. east coast, but I don't remember whether we flew or took a train to the west coast.

West Coast to Florida to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Survived it cause it was business class. Soooo much more space to wiggle around!

When I was in the Army, I flew from Washington, DC to South Africa in a C141. Your feet would be freezing and your head would be sweaty. You would have your Walkman (yes it was that long ago 😀) cranked all the way to drown out the engine noise. Good times!

@@johnf8609 You were expecting a lot of that Walkman, those planes are crazy loud!!! 🤪

I carry a resistance band loop with me. I also try to go to the bathroom as often as possible. While in the bathroom, I do exercises to help wake up muscles. I also wear lower leg compression socks

My favorite plane exercise is to sit directly behind a coworker and to kick the seat continuously for the entire flight. It's a great total leg exercise for me, plus it relieves the pent-up frustration I have of them. But seriously, this was a great video. As a bigger dude, I don't have much room to move around, but I always try to keep the blood flowing to the legs.

My best tip for in flight comfort is: dress for success. Leggings or joggers, layers, and light comfortable shoes. Something you feel you can move in.

I asked my physical therapist for exercises for the theatre. After sitting in place for an hour and a half or two and a half hours, my knees freeze up and don't want to go down stairs. None of his suggestions worked in the limited space available, but I think these might work!

I select seating that will allow for added movement, aisle seats, some planes have seats in the back that have more room.

Very helpful. I also like to stretch the upper body lifting my hands above the head, stretching out the shoulders and bending from side to side. This gives the organs some space and lifts everything up off the pelvis improving circulation. Grasping my hands together behind my back to put the back into extension really helps when you are sitting with head and shoulders bent forward for so long. Happy travels!

Great video Matt! I have a good family friend who is having trouble with circulation issues after knee surgery and recently retiring. He told me that he has to get back to physical therapy. Well guess what? This is where he’s going to start! ATM

You could also bring a mini band (booty band) and do some glute work, inner thigh work, even chest and shoulders. But when I'm sitting on a long flight, I really feel the need to do ankle rotations. They feel so good!

I do Hamstring Stretch #2 in the departure gate boarding area. I'll stretch out in the area outboard of the aisle pathway adjacent to the lavatory (in the main cabin) while everyone is sleeping.

My tip is. As soon as you are allowed, get up and walk around the cabin. In a long flight, you can walk many miles. Every so often, an Asian squat, or other stretches. There’s no reason to be uncomfortable during a flight. People are lazy, that’s all.

I usually have tailbone pain on every seat I sit on besides my recliner in my room that I game on. I flew last year with United Airlines for the first time in my life and went to LA and all that hurt was my butt LOL I need help with that because I get squirmy and I annoyed my sister a little bit from that last time and possibly annoyed the little Asian guy that sat next to me, trying to sleep 😭 He was so small, but looked like he was around my age or older and I was twice his size because I’m fat 😂 Anyway, I need some way to avoid the butt pain 😂 Also, I have a flat butt and I’m fat as I said before and yeah I’m guessing that’s why sitting so long hurts it
