You need to show/explain that, with the AUTOSET machine, you don't just "go into my options" - One must hold the home button and press the settings wheel together for aboot 8 seconds to enter the "Clinical settings" mode, which is where that SmartStart is found.

Thanks for feedback. Not a big fan of giving out clinical menu instructions as often I see patients change their own pressures and by the time the device comes in the data is looking very poor. Andrew

same as my mum's machine, lately it has been switching itself on during the day and we find it spluttering away as it consumed all the water and left a lot of it in the hose.

Yes. Though there has been a long term issue with Resmed machines/nasal pillow masks and the auto stop not working

My Resmed Airsense 10 is only three years old and has worked well until recently. Last night, the cpap stopped and displayed a "High Leak" alert. I checked the mask leakage and it was not any worse then previously. I have never had this alert before and concerned that the next time I won't get up and end up breathing my own exhaust all night and being deprived of oxygen! HELP! I plan to cross-post this same question eelsewhere on the subject since it is very important that I find a solution to this issue ASAP. I checked the "SmartStart" and it is set to "Off". Perhaps if essentials plus is on it can be found without entering clinical menu

My guess is you are using a P10 or a pillow mask. It can be tricky for the machines to pick up the difference between leak and a mask off event with these. Try disconnecting at the tube and I think it will probably work.

You may need your supplier to change a setting on it. From memory they'll need to click on "essentials plus"

Fixed it had to turn off leak alert

If you press and hold both the home button and the click wheel the clinical menu will show up. Under essentials change it from on to plus!

@@DeKnight25 Wow ... thanks for that advise!! This was the only way I could get the machine to not "gray out" the Smart Start option. So the only way I could get access to turn on the Smart Start was to do as you said ... turn off leak alert ... now I can turn on/off the Smart Start feature! My supply company that sold/service my ByPAP had told me in the past that this feature could only be turned on in their office ... then they couldn't get it to work ... so I had to drive a long way to get a new machine. It worked for about a week then somehow was turned off & grayed out again! Now I know what to do to get access to the Smart Start if it happen again. You saved me from a big headache with this machine! Thanks so much!

Kenneth, there is a feature that can be turned on in clinical menu “essentials plus” which will allow all to be shown
