Hi there, thought I would comment! I commented on another finasteride video of yours, I have been taking this for roughly 10 years at a dosage of 1.25mg every OTHER day, NOT every day. I know everyone is different, but for me this has been ok and I can't say I've experienced anything out of the ordinary since starting it. I guess when you work it out, it's the equivalent of 0.67g a day. But like I say, I have a 48 hour period between doses. I have read too about lower dosages being as effective so I could probably reduce it even more but it seems ok currently. I keep in shape, exercise/work out/run 4/5 times a week and eat healthily. When I was in my late teens I took an awful drug for acne called Roaccutane, which can do some serious damage, some people have committed suicide on it. Thankfully I only got nosebleeds (only!?!). But I figured if my body has been put through that and come out the other side, finasteride was worth trying. It's a difficult one but thought I would throw in my experience as I've been on it for a very long time compared to others.

I would say my hair just started to recede just at the temples by about 1cm at the age of about 23, I didn't have any balding on the crown, or the typical 'bald patch'. I'd say my hairloss dramatically slowed down, I've probably receded another 1cm or so since taking finesteride over the last 10 years. I think to look at me people would say I haven't lost any hair, but I think I just effectively stopped it from falling out! I also think genetically I'm better off than most as my dad just receded and then has a slight bald spot at almost 70 years of age. But when he was my age he was thinner, receding more as he didn't do anything to try to stop the hair loss. In my experience growing back hair is the holy grail that I haven't figured out, but it's definitely possible to keep the hair you've currently got for a long time more than would otherwise happen! *edit - I was/do also use minoxidil, natural caffeine shampoo (Alpecin), I used a laser comb also. Basically I pretty much do everything I can to help the hairs stay there!

There was an interesting study where they had two groups of men taking finasteride. The first group was given finasteride and not counseled about possible side effects. The second group were counseled about possible side effects. They both took the exact same dosage. In the non-counseled group, the rate of side effects was around 4%. The group that was counseled had a 35% rate of side effects. I'm sure that finasteride has significant sides for some. I mean you are playing with hormones, so logically there has to be some physiological effects. But you also have to question the role of the placebo effect on perceptions of side effects.

Well I am taking it well over 5 years now... but while going though today with various web sites info about finasteride i came to know that birth of male child can have complication.. and this is what happened to me. I lost my beloved son at the age of 4 months and no doctor and test was able to dedeuct the problem he has although he was admited in one of the high rank hospital here in Pakistan. Unfortunately, any hair loss medication will need to be a lifelong commitment. You need to be taking finasteride, minoxidil, etc daily to see the full results. Once you stop taking it, all the hairs you have grown or maintained can be lost.

Please stop putting this poisin to your system. You might end up dead if you are unlucky. It doesnt matter if you take 1mg or 0,5mg or 0,1mg, this poisin has still quite about the same effect. Many have ended up with PFS after adjusting dosage. Just accept that you shave your head. Its not worth it to play with your life on this evil drug. You still have possibility that you dont get symptoms when you quit. But if you do, you might have a fight for your life, symptoms so nasty that I cant even describe those.

That is technically not true since not everyone after stopping Finasteride has said their Sexual Dysfunction continued. It really depends on how it affects you and everyone is different.

hmm the chart for dosages says .05 lowers dht more then .2? maybe that was a typo on their part and they meant .5mg

Matchan91 yeah I think it was supposed to be 0.5mg. higher dosages will be more effective but not much difference between 1mg and 5mg, and so most doctors prescribe 1mg finasteride.

The maker of this video dont have any clue what finasteride can do. I can speak from my own personal experience, my continous non-stop fight for my life for 2 years now. I took finasteride 10-11 years for treating hair loss with no major side-effects. The truth was that I just havent paid attention to the sides because they increased gradually when years went by. On 2/2018 I experienced the ”crash”, my genitals went all numb, I had this non-stop nausea like I have a hangover that never ends, my skin on my whole body lost this ”feeling-good-on-touch”, I loss all capability to do sports because of the weakness and the destroy of the whole metabolism, lost all emotions (cant feel love, sad, anything), of course lost everything that had to do with sexuality, insomnia, tinnitus, total failure of the gut function, the list goes on for very long. I basicly experiment a crash which stole my whole overall healthiness. Only later I found out that I have PFS post-finasteride-syndrom. One of the most severe state on the human body that the corrupted and evil pharma industry can create. I could tell a lot about the pharma industry but that wouldnt make any difference. All in all, I was very healthy and sporty person before all this. Now my life is a hell every single day. Not one day passes by when Im not thinking about suicide. This drug has took everything from me (and thousands other who fight for they lives). When you cant feel anything, you cant feel love, cant feel anything and your list of symptoms is this long, life just losts its meaning. Its impossible to tell or describe to somebody who dont have PFS. You cant realise what this is unless you experience this yourself. I have had this now for 2 years, the longest sufferers have had it over 20 years. If you guys have any brain, dont ever touch this poison. Its the worst thing pharma industry have created and this poison have killed so many people allready (suicides). And this is FDA approved. So basicly these are legalized murders and nobody can do anything about these. Just want to say to all, DONT TOUCH FINASTERIDE EVER!

@@brokenbutterfly3178 Some symptoms have got little bit better like the 24/7 nausea and also sleep. But sexual functions and skin sensitivity on whole body and genitals is destroied. Gut functions is destroied, have to struggle every day to get something out. And im nearing 5 years mark now. Metabolism not working, hormonal balance is out of function. Cant feel feelings as human should. So basicly asexual that cant feel anything. Oh, and I think heart is not operating as it should be, idle pulse is around 53. I have got it some days over 60 and on those days gut have somehow better function. But it always goes back to same after maybe few better days so no progress.
