This is what I have learned to do concerning dealing with narcissistic personality disorder. 1. Know that they will not accept any logical argument that they are wrong. 2. They are experts at twisting reality to fit their view and make you doubt yourself. Be aware it is like an illness that you cannot fix or cure. 3. Be yourself and never react or get upset--they love it, they thrive on it, they feed on control and conflict. 4. Remain calm no matter what. Concentrate on changing your emotion from anger to pity. Remind yourself that they are sick and deluded-- see them the same way as you would see someone with a major physical illness. 5. Set calm rock solid boundaries. Show them that you are supremely confident in your conviction. Do not enter into debate it will just upset you and you will get nowhere. Kill debate with "Lets agree to disagree" showing them you are unflappable, and cannot be manipulated. 6. Winning is retaining your peace of mind and sense of self. It is not changing the narcissist's behaviour beliefs or actions in any way, or getting revenge. You cannot fight darkness with darkness. You cannot make them suffer but know that they suffer continually, they seldom have peace of mind. It is exhausting and unfulfilling making so many external things essential to their happiness. It is un-sustainable. 7. If possible, cut them out of your life.

Definitely, I keep getting texts trying to get me to engage in conversation which will end in an argument. Also he says "you asked me to leave so I did and Im the bad guy". Stop playing the victim mate and stop asking stupid questions like "I think I left this at your house, let me k ow if you find it" no, I won't. It's been almost a week and he can't help himself, I said goodbye and unfriended him but haven't changed my number because he will turn up wanting to look for stuff. I've made it clear, no being friends still and no coming back. 6yrears of love bom ING, 4years of absolutely no physical contact, total waste of 10yrs. There were early signs which I blew off, I wish I knew then what I know now. I have become a non able bodied person and he was my Carer but did virtually nothing then left me with no money, no support, 3 days of food/soup and just walked out after he took everything he wanted. I don't need revenge because I know he won't survive without me, that is enough..totally ignoring him. I'm relieved, hurt, but I will be fine.

She should detach first inwardly by not investing where she doesn't receive respect and then like an inch worm practice self compassion because she was chosen because she has a big heart ♥️ and she should acknowledge her big heart which will be so good for her self esteem and then she should move out and leave because I'm going through the same thing and they know you love them which is why they think people who love and are kind and stupid. Then she should leave in the safetest emotional and physical way and take her dignity back.

But this time he said somethings that was so horrible… I just lost it, and said I’m putting some space between us! And that was almost 2 weeks ago! This is the longest time we have gone without speaking to each other and to my surprise he has not called me as he usually does! In a way, I disagree. Those of us who are sensitive souls must learn to block the attacks of harsher personalities. As we grow a shell or learn to develop "a bubble" around ourselves, we can learn to detach from those souls that exhibit true psychoses traits beyond basic narcissism. Many adults hail from backgrounds where some sort of abuse or more than one form of abuse occurred. Some develop an uncanny ability to be present but detached or not emotionally involved with people around them.

I had to walk away from my relationship with my ultra-narcissistic Mother. As the only girl, I'd had a lifetime filled with watching my three Brothers and me being made the "scape-goats" at various times. But, there was ALWAYS one at ALL times. I bought a new car, and my Mother couldn't stand it for some reason. She went on a phone campaign bad-mouthing me to people she hadn't talk to in years. I caught her at it, red-handed. She couldn't stand to see my happiness about anything. Jealous! I think what bothered me the most were the MANY times family and friends told me to "just ignore the bad-mouthing", but when her narcissistic lasers were pointed at them not ONE of them could ignore it. And I mean NOT ONE! I was glad they at least got to know what it felt like. Some people have to learn the hard way. People can be hypocritical. So, it's been almost two years without her drama-filled lies and near constant triangulation in my life, and life is the best it has ever been. I'm not angry; and I don't wish her ill. Her life has always been lousy, and at 83, there's no hoping for a miracle. I wish her peace with whatever life she has left. Here's hoping her next lifetime is much healthier and happier than this one has been. God Bless everyone who has SURVIVED a narcissist....especially a childhood being raised by one. Narcissists are devils of the human spirit.

Narcissist go through their life leaving nothing but hurt people in their wake. They don't love anyone but themselves, and the sad thing is, the heart of their mentality is a deep sense of self-loathing and insecurity. So they tear others down to try to make themselves feel and look better.
