My favourite quotes about time "Time spent with cats is never wasted" "Men talk of killing time, while time quietly kills them." "Time flies over us, but leaves its shadow behind." "How did it get so late so soon? It’s night before it’s afternoon. December is here before it’s June. My goodness how the time has flewn. How did it get so late so soon?" "Yesterday’s the past, tomorrow’s the future, but today is a gift. That’s why it’s called the present." "We all have our time machines. Some take us back, they’re called memories. Some take us forward, they’re called dreams." "Old Time, that greatest and longest established spinner of all!…. his factory is a secret place, his work is noiseless, and his hands are mutes."

These are very common and useful expressions that we usually use on our daily basis. Other phrases related to time are: Better luck next time, it is often used to tell someone when he/she misses the opportunity. In the nick of time, it is often used when you reach before the actual time or event. Example: I arrived in the conference room in the nick of time. This means before the meeting has started I arrived there. Thanks for teaching...

Hi, there, Emma! I loved this lesson and the only time expression that I think is missing is the difference between IN TIME and ON TIME. If you could cover that in another lesson, it would be great! Another thing, on your slide that you gave the example of "She hasn't seen her mom for years so she's making up for lost time", in the subtitle it says "I hasn't seen her mom..." You have an amazing day! Cheers!!!

Hey Emma Thanks a million for the lovely videos you post. I personally find them super useful, fun and full of emotional intelligence. Big fan of you spirited lass!! Here are the ones that might be useful: 1. It is just a matter of time ... 2. Running late for ... 3. About time! 4. What good timing! 5. Squeeze in 6. Make time Counting seconds for your next post

Make + time: # make time: to make certain you will devote certain amount of time to do something. Ex: to make time to read or to make time for your family. # make up the time: to work extra hours because you did not finish a work. Ex: I will make up the time today to finish what I have not done during my sick leave. # make good time: as explained by our teacher Emma, to complete a journey earlier than expected. # make (good) use of time. Self explanatory expression.
