In my country, Finland, it seems to me that doctors dont even think about other solutions but operating and replacing a new knee. For me, it will be the absolute last solution. I don't have any pain whatsoever and I can go walking from A to B although less elegantly than before. I have learned a lot from you and am confident that I WILL continue to do so. Thank you.

I've made quite good progress following your program. But... I have difficulty standing on the right leg and going up or down the stairs, consequently. I was xrayed twice and Iwas supposed to have a knee replacement operation this autumn in October, but the only problem I really have is standing on my right leg. I cancelled the operation and I hope to be able, with some help, to learn to have more strength with my right knee. I have practised all kinds on moving an dancing and gymnastics most of my life. I hope I wont have to give in having a replacement operation. I'm being vvverrry serious with this.

I have issues from the first and third test. I already knew twisting my knee would have issues bc I sprained my right knee taking some heavy boxes down a flight of stairs. But both of my knees have been swelling after too much walking or movement and I never had flexibility or mobility issues before. I was vegan for 7 years but my mom insisted I start drinking bone broth and taking gelatin bc she thinks my uses stem from my body not having the right nutrients for bone health. Can you touch on any nutrition tips for rebuilding knee health. Is she right about the bone broth? At this point I can’t risk having knee problems this young for the rest of my life so I’m open to whatever I need to do. Your videos have been very informative and helpful so far. Thank you!

I’ve been battling this issue for over a year. I tried to ignore it but it got to the point where stairs weren’t my friend so I did see my orthopedic surgeon. An MRI was done and torn articular cartilage showed up and the tear is to the bone in my trochlear region. In two days I’m having a chrondoplasty to smooth out the rough parts.

Love these videos. I went to Manual for 2 months, and got better! Everyone there is awesome. One suggestion: wear shorts! And I do have a question: about focusing on flute strength. I’m having trouble Not involving the quads. Any suggestions? 🤷‍♀️

Hey Scor Pion! We're glad you're enjoying the videos! It's hard to tell if you'll be better for sure, as it depends on the severity. But usually strengthening the foot muscles can greatly help not having to depend on the type of footwear you use. The general rule we tell patients with foot problems is that supportive footwear is more helpful if you spend more time on your feet. If you're not on your feet as much, then it's ok to use less supportive footwear (even be barefoot) so you can strengthen foot muscles. But only do so according to your tolerance. Does that make sense?

My main problem is stiffness in back of right knee after walking about 8-10 minutes. If I stop and do standing gate swings, it loosens up again and I can go another 8-10 minutes...my doctor told me based on my xray, that its arthritis --but this knee never straightened after a miniscus surgery 5 years ago. Does this sound like a typical arthritis problem to you?
@epmanualphysicaltherapy
@epmanualphysicaltherapy 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Donna! Sorry to hear about your knee stiffness on the backside of it :-( That's a good sign that your knee loosens up after the swings. It does sound typical in that it loosens up with that kind of easy movement. It is often common for the knee to loose motion either before (as in your case) or after the arthritis comes on. If you've had a loss of knee motion for 5 years, then it will be quite challenging to gain more motion at this time. That doesn't mean you can't be active again, it just means that you have to find how to move best and stay strong in the right areas so that you can keep the knee from getting irritated. It will be prone to becoming irritated if because of the lack of motion in the knee.
