i just buy the same model a week ago. i can´t be able to sew anything until i put a servo motor. i told to the technician that put a reducer like yours but he didnt understood what was telling him. so i decided to expend in a servo motor and now i love it! and i´m able to rotate the machine to inspection it. Recommend u and everybody to invest in a servo motor.

blawe mexico Yes servo motors on ALL industrial sewing machines solves all the problems, then it goes a normal speed and not 50mph.

Nice video. The numbers on the stitch length dial represent the stitch length in millimeters. Also, you can get a genuine Juki replacement plate (for the one cut in 2 pieces) on Ebay for about $18. I might be worth it to remove the frustration.

Appreciate your video, just started working on the Juki LU-1508N and never used before today...was threading needle in reverse and couldn’t figure it out why thread was breaking...until I watched your video..DUH but, excited about the projects I will be able to produce on this machine. Why is tension knob so hard to twist to the right?

I broke down and bought a brand new 1508. I love it! And you are a very big inspiration to me. I have a question though. What size needle do you use for 92 thread? I am using a 125/20. Seams large to me?? Any input would be awesome.

I thought I heard you say, in a past video that I can’t find agin, some thing about a Cobra something or other, and a Cowboy I can’t remember, being quality machines. Could you tell me those models again? Im looking into a cobra 20 flatbed but I notice the 17 and 18 could save me some cash. As a noob I’m looking for a one and done machine for wallets, bags, belts, and notebooks. Maybe some sheathes and holsters. Tips?

I've got the same machine and have no issues running the bobbin thread from the bobbin out without using a tool. And that pointed tool is the worse you can do. If you scratch the hook pickup etc that will cost you a fortune.

The dial numbers are arbitrary ?? That sets your stitch length in MM

Parker you don't lift the presser foot when you wind the bobbin? When i learned to sew i was told to always lift the presser foot up. That way it isnt metal to metal contact when a piece of leather isnt on the machine.

Do yo know the DOSE ds 0628 machine? for me to buy a JUKI would be way too expensive (taxes), some people recommended to me to go for the ds 0628 version which is kind of a cheap version of juki. Let me know if you or someone had any experiences with this machine. Thanks! Awesome videos, keep doing it, it really helped me to improve my leather skills!

I thought I seen you in a video with a Cowboy machine. I have a Cobra class 4 & it's a great machine. It is tough to use on light weight leathers though. That's where a machine like yours is sure handy to have also.

I bought a new 1508 and I hate it. Constant jams-the first within minutes of sewing for the first time. Thre trips to the repair shop but it can do nothing but jam. I've had it for a month and it literally has been in the repair shop longer than its been in my shop. I guess I got a lemon. Anyone need a boat anchor???

Sorry to hear that Larry. Must've been a lemon. I know lots of people with this machine that love it. Mine has given me zero issues. I've had that experience with a car before, not fun. Hope you can get it figured out

You missed the guide after the check spring....thread should go that guide twice.. seems offset to the left, but that is what Juki shows.
