Thank you very much for the video, you have been a great insight for boxing in a Russian perspective. Gained a lot of great tips and new strategies to work on while I have been out of the gym. The weight transference for this jab with the weight ending on the rear leg to load up for the right is interesting, compared to the falling-step jab where the weight transfers to the front leg as they throw. It's a good alternative to mix things up.

That’s what I was thinking. I suppose a good way of keeping your balance without over committing.

This guy is so light on his feet. I’m trying so hard but I’m like an elephant

Lots of skipping, shadow boxing and running on your toes will help your lightness

You can hit hella hard with this footwork because you're dropping your body weight into each punch.

Why is he turnin lead foot when throwing jab?
@scuff12314 ай бұрын
Adds an inch on the jab, also raises your lead hip and shoulder protecting your jaw getting your head off centre. Remember this is soviet style boxing always in motion at lot of ‘western’ styles of boxing teach no front foot rotation, just a different style
@charliebates90982 ай бұрын
It's to line up your right to come down straight center... He's stepping to the outside of the opened foot of the opponent

Why
@georgekondylis6723Ай бұрын
@@johnnyblaze373 Highly flawed. Jab is not for turning shoulder. And up and down jumping is wrong. Any good coach will get you to settle your weight into your punches, while using subtle and minimal footwork. Jumping puts you off balance and wastes energy. I don’t understand why so many people buy into this guys stuff. Some is ok, but plenty is wrong. Check out Precision Striking if you want good online coaching.
