Legendary video guys! Looks like I'm 7 years late to the cool club but ya helped me fix the timing belt on this big ol mower. Hit a dern dog rope buried under a foot of grass. Never buying a green rope again. Thank you!

If it weren't for Taryl's mower videos my grass would be 6 feet tall. By watching him, I was able to completely tear down my 42" mower deck, replace the needed parts and while I was at it I also scraped and repainted the deck. Thank you Taryl.

Thanks for another great video! I'm with Van Harmon! You should charge people an extra 5-10 bucks to clean the crap out from under or on top of their mowers! I can't stand to get my hands on it. I don't mind the oil and grease! You know under the deck it's grass and dog s..t! And maybe some cat s..t too! Plus whatever weeds they have could end up around your shop lawn too! OK, I'm through with the rant.

Great Video as always Taryl and clan. I have seen the Time Master at a Toro dealer. I guess the 30" cut is suppose to save time. I haven't had one come in for repairs yet, but what I saw in your video, Toro gas taken a step back on quality with this machine and for $1000. I think I will stay with a regular Toro or Airens.

How are the blades held to the spindle? I was thinking if I was doing this job, I'd just loosen the two blades from the spindles from the bottom and time them that way. But I don't know if Toro uses just a hole thru the blades and clamping pressure from the spindle bolt or those star-holes in the center? But even with the star holes, wouldn't that get it close enough? I mean it's a mower, not the space shuttle. ;) Which is one of my favorite lines of yours. :)

Nevermind...I saw the two "nubbins" that the blade mounts into, so the above can't work.

Hello...I have a Troy Bilt 33inch walk behind mower 11.5hp Briggs...and today in tall grass the blades crashed together....got them fixed, but I can't figure out how to get one of them pulleys off for the cog belt to adjust the timing again. Pulley on the left side wont come off...either stuck or a press fit. I assume that's what I have to do to get it timed..I cannot find one video for my model machine in here to tell me what to do. Any help would be great. Thanks!

We replaced the tenisoner near motor that blew out after hitting a canvas dog toy. We replaced it and set everything and ran it to make sure. PUt shields back and ran the mower yesterday and nearly finished then the left pully bearing blew out. Why? cascading failure due to the tenisoner failing? Any advice?
@newcoyote5 жыл бұрын
Didn't watch the entire video so apologies if this was addressed. Before going through all of the top end stuff, first, check the more likely cause of misalignment. There is a washer (called a blade adapter P/N 20199 20200) that fits into the blade above it. The two small holes on either side of the main drive shaft hole of the blade. It is like a mechanical fuse. If you hit a rock or whatever, pins shear off rather than the shock transfer to the drive shaft. Check that first.

A masons margin trowel is the best tool for scraping grass off a mower deck. The offset handle keeps your knuckles out of the crap while being able to get the blade in there. Anyone who tries one will never use anything else.

I prefer a flat wooden spatula from Walmart to clean under the deck. Wood won't scratch the paint like your metal one can.
First time I saw a small engines specialist on KZbin clean the downside of a mower. 👍 Sometimes I would like to come in the internet in order to do that... 😂👍

This Toro has the Briggs & Stratton its nitorious for problems because it has a plastic camshaft and timing gear in these which these always break. then the valves don't work in the engine. its very piss poor on Briggs & Stratton's part these are on Mowers and pressure washers these engines.

Good Job Taryl. That is a poor design. Kind of like zero clearance valves on say like an old Ford Escort. Peace.
@theguywhorarelylies54547 жыл бұрын
What do you consider "old" escort? Because 90 models and up the manual says they are zero clearance engines...but its a lie I have probably cracked open about 300 of them to fix and never once seen Valve to piston contact from a timing belt break. Like Taryl says I DON'T CARE WHAT THE BOOK SAYS! Those damn escort do have a fatal flaw of dropping valve seats when they get some age on them and then the piston gets wrecked.
