This is the only video I found that specifically showed and explained how to replace the worm belt on the time master. Blademan is brilliant in the way he teaches others how to work on machines. A real talent for transferring knowledge and skills in a very approachable manner. The Blademan and Trottle comedy routine is excellent too.

If I had one of these, I'd install an additional standard nut on the adjustment bolt so I could sandwich the pully adjustment slide against the nylock nut for added security, but that's just me. I always learn a lot watching your videos!!!

This thing is a beast. So yours was much friendlier than my friend's. After I pulled the cover, I could see that the adjuster bolt was rusted badly. No amount of penetrating oil and muscle could free it; I had to Dremelize it. No big deal. Once the old bolt was out, I couldn't move the sliding bracket. Wanting to do it up right, I flooded the nearest shoulder bolt with PB Blaster and attempted to work it (gently!!) back and forth. It broke off almost instantly. CURSES!! OK. I'll deal with that later. Got the blades timed, new belt installed. I had a pair if bushings almost exactly an inch in length. I slipped those into that cavity and tightened the adjuster bolt down until they were snugly held, thus squaring off the sliding bracket. One problem solved. Installed the other two new belts, then the guards and covers and viola! There's yer dinner!! Thanks, Taryl. Another deposit to yer PayPal.

Excellent. I haven't started it up uet, but everything is looking good. I had to remove the top part we put the locking pliers on in order to get the belt on. No way it was going on without doing so, but that was a piece of cake. Socket on the top bolt, wrench on the blade bolt. Took some leverage, but it broke free and off/back on easily. Thanks much!

Why do these 30" Toro mowers seem to go through the engine to deck belt fairly often seems to be the only one to fail just installed one only lasted 2 hrs. on new unit all pulleys are good
@phillipparker89472 жыл бұрын
Hey Taryl. Great video. Isn't there a couple line ups on the pulleys on top of the deck to time the blades , I remember doing a recall on some of these replacing the washers on the pulleys, the cup washers. Just checking not trying to check you over or something, but physically checking the blades is the smarter move
@fixtritephil77125 ай бұрын
There are holes in each spindle pulley the notched one is lined up 90 degrees from the front on the left side. The pulley on the right, the hole will be lined up straight in line with the front. Put a small diameter screwdriver in each hole it will drop through the deck locking the pulleys in the correct timing alignment .No need for a clamp on the pully....

When taking off 3/8 inch guide belt screws better if you do not drop the smaller one down into the shaft hole where it WILL fit down in so that you have to have undue the four half inch screws that hold blade holder so that it will drop out the bottom. Not that I was stupid enough to do that. Was just worried someone else might be

There is no way in HELL that belt can be pushed onto the larger drive pulley while it's attached. You simply can't push the belt between the drive pulley and the screw mount for the drive belt guard. I tried and there's simply not enough space.

Mine has the same issue. Had to remove the Pulley Brake (part # 130-6664) to install the belt without damaging it. Maybe some people have smaller diameter brakes?

@@seawolfxix Same here. I watched the video and tried to do the same as on there but there just wasn't enough space so I had to remove the same part as you and then put it back. Works great now though. :-)
@rjfrench694 жыл бұрын
Yes this is the difference between an older Timemaster in the video, like a 20199 vs. a newer 21199+ The older ones have a tapered post that just lets you slide that sync belt in The newer ones have no taper on the post - there is no way - you need to remove the pulley brake. This isn't a big deal to do, just tilt on the side, put a wood block in to wedge the blade in place, and undo with a 3/4" socket.
@RobertLindabury4 жыл бұрын
@@rjfrench69 That makes a ton of sense. Glad you cleared that up. I tried and tried before I did exactly what you said. :-)
