I feel you with the brassy cool, I also have extremely dark dark hair, and I have gone fully blonde, and been blonde for a while now, when I tone my hair (just for a tip) you don’t have to section it off. I’ve found it works a lot better to literally saturate your whole hair! It works really well if it’s not dry whatsoever and if you keep massaging it through out the time you leave it on before you since it. It will help it active better and work more effectively! But best thing ever to make it really really ashy is to 100% saturation all over your blonde in the toner! I’m from Canada so not sure if you have these two blonde shampoo there but you can get them from Sally’s, and they work amazing to eliminate the brassy color and keep the color even, they are called shimmer lights and blonde brilliance - blonde brilliance works the best.

As a fellow New Jerseyan u may understand the struggle of curbside pickup...i just got this today by mistake (i asked for T18). This was soo helpful bc I was afraid to use it thinking my hair would have a purple cast. My hair is also very dark and gets super brassy easily (gotta love pigmented hair right?) Now I cant wait to use it. Thanks so much!

Wella and redken shades eq are one of the best for toning. Also Melissa use a purple shampoo so that it can help with the brassiness.

Ohh! this is interesting. I had my hair done 2 weeks ago. I had a root smudge end some baby lights end my highlights done. my natural hair colour it's a cool brown hair colour. but I've noticed, I have some highlights are more yellow, brassy! its looks okay, in certain lighting. But., I am scared to tone it to make it more a cool tone, I don't want to have to struggle whit a more purple stain in my blonde.

To prevent your hair from becoming bronzer, try the filter shower head. Thats what i did and it works. They have it on Amazon and sephora sells the T3 one.

If I got the Wella toner, and my hair just got highlighted (from a friend) and it is super Super Yellow, Orange Streaks. which will I use? the cool or warm toner? Im panicking.
@Emily77785 жыл бұрын
cindy thomas if it’s too brassy and orange the toner won’t make a big difference. It needs to be bleached again to a paler yellow for the toner to really make a difference. That being said, if would use a warmer toner if you’re not going to bleach again. In order to use a cooler toner your hair needs to be a lot lighter.

T27 in this same brand and it took away my yellow and orange ( it was a lighter orange) not dark orange.

I just don’t wanna end up with some crazy stuff going on with my hair I want to keep my blonde but just don’t want the white blonde. I want a natural color blonde any help would be much appreciated! I’m a natural 6-7 but I’m like a 9-10 now.

I never understand comments like these, I really don't. What do you expect the outcome of your unsolicited criticism to be? That you'll be thanked for telling someone how bad you think their hair looks? Or you just don't care how it makes them feel? Really though, what was happening in your head when you left this comment? Is it boredom? Malice? Callousness? Or just a complete disconnect from social etiquette? Seriously, I'm trying to understand what drives people to say unkind things to complete strangers....

I went to a hairdresser today trying to get my hair to look exactly like yours. I love your hair Melissa but mines isn’t coming out like yours it’s looking brassy as well but mines looks way brassier than what yours looked like. I wonder what color your hairdresser used on you? So when you went to the salon you asked for baliage and highlights?
@itsmelissaflores5 жыл бұрын
Yes I asked for balayage highlights but mainly I showed her photos of what I wanted. I don’t think the color has to do with brassiness. To get rid of orange/brassiness the hair needs to be toned. Maybe try telling her you want it cooler/ashier
@11212barbie5 жыл бұрын
itsmelissaflores I showed her a picture and the mistake she made was to think it was ombré I don’t know anything about hair coloring all I know is that I absolutely love your color it suits you so well and I would like to get the color you have. She lifted my hair then put a color in then toned it with a lavender toner and it was so brassy still with 2 tones of different blondes. I can try going to a different hair dresser and telling her what you got. I saw your Q&A on your hair coloring that helped a lot!
@suzy2daboosie5 жыл бұрын
You would have to go for another session of lightning if your hair is more brassy. For some of us it would take sessions to get the desire color of blond.

have you had any experiences with the toner lightening your natural hair colour? i've heard of that happening with the wella t18 toner
@itsmelissaflores5 жыл бұрын
No it didn’t lighten the rest of my hair at all. It doesn’t lighten hair just tones it 💘
@AB-mo5hy5 жыл бұрын
dianatran11 it would only lighten it if you used a 20 volume developer. 20 developer lifts hair and deposits colour, so I’ve had my roots lightened unintentionally. If you have areas that you don’t want to lighten, use a 6 or 10 volume developer, or keep the mixture away from your roots. It may also seem to be “lighter” because it’s ashier/toned.
@leahrodriquez13495 жыл бұрын
I use 20 when I retone, because yes it will lighten regular hair. I like it to tho because it lightens my regrowth so my natural dark hair is not so harsh against the blonde.
