Julianna You know sometimes the decision is made without us.We found 5 pups in the forest -left there to die-all stayed with us and well it is a lot of time and work we have no problems with them now😊😊

That is a very good point! I'll be more mindful to take that sort of scenario into consideration. Good thing you were able to make it all work out, that must have felt incredibly rewarding. It is easy to make rash judgements about people, so I'm just glad that Zak didn't get all preachy about saying that you should never adopt more than one dog because sometimes it just happens! I respect him for that.

We chose two - i'd never heard of littermate syndrome having only had one dog then another later before. seems i should have looked into it more but we are doing training separately, in different rooms or different family members. But some still think you can do it without a major problem so here's hoping.

This is really helpful! We have two puppies (6 months), and it's really nice to see that things can be done. We usually train them separately, but walking 2 husky puppies at the same time is pretty hard.

My puppy husky had really strange behaviour at only 9 weeks old, growling at people entering the house, scared of people, dogs and cars, just not a very nice puppy. shes 4 months old now, and everyday I watch a new Zak george video and work with her. Shes a beautiful puppy now, always nice and clam, loves to play with other dogs and does so in a friendly nice manner, we always receive tons of praise from other owners at the dog park at just how lovely and obedient she is. I just wanted to say thank you, for all of this free education. It's been so valuable to us, not in just training our dog but also understanding and connecting with her. We've grown a very strong bond with her that we can tell will last a lifetime. Thank you Zak George!

Yes! I was so excited when I found this video. My father is a sucker for animals and could not pass up the chance for not just one but two black Labradors. It has been a challenge because they seem to be more interested in each other than us so we try to separate them when we are outside, on walks, or training. This video just assures me that Im on the right track thus far. Thank you!

I'm getting a gsd pup and the only thing I'm afraod of is leash pulling when he will be 5+ months old! The problem I have with my 2 months old pitbull puppies is that they both want to go to the same hand even if I have treat for each of them in each hand, the boy especially he is hyper too. I have a littermate syndrome issue.one dog, Gracie is mine and Lucy is my in laws.The original plan was we were to take Gracie with us when we moved but we didn't end up moving at that time so now it's been 6 months with them together. My husband and I are in the house buying process again and we decided to leave Gracie with my in laws to be with her sister. Only because lately she doesn't sleep through the night, I get up and let her out twice and she doesn't do anything. She still barks when I put her back in her cage, but when I take her to put her in the same cage as Lucy she is fine. So at that point I got upset because she doesn't want to sleep by us and only her sister. I figured that us separating her from her sister when we move now, would make things worse because she already has really bad separation anxiety when she is by herself. I just don't know if it's too late to separate them completely with us moving. I want to take her with us, I just don't want any problems. It is really hard to separate them now especially because they live in the same house and we work during the day so my mother in law takes care of them. I don't want to make the wrong decision.

Dear Zak I want to thank you for your great trainings. I used them to teach my dogs and I saw the result very fast. I have this problem with my two 2 months old puppies but I tried to use my both hands to teach them simultaneously but it works just for simple commands and sometimes they lose their concentration. Why didn’t you talk about littermate syndrome, my last two fosters had it. It’s very common. As someone who works with dogs, I advise adopting two puppies at the same time. Wait a little bit and adopt one after you’ve had the other puppy for a while. If you already adopted two puppies, make sure you socialize them and train them separately and then together.

This is off subject but my dog has food aggression, she growled when we tried to take her food off her, and then we tried a technique for 2 weeks and it worked then every once in while we take her bowl off her and she's fine. But this time today she growled but not just once like she use to multiple times.

Do you worry about littermate syndrome with two puppies? I adopted two puppies at the same time due to some adoption issues with the shelters and had no idea about this. I'd never heard of littermate syndrome. It wasn't until they started to show behavior problems and I reached out to a trainer that I learned about this. I wish I'd known about it before. I'm too attached and selfish to separate them now but I could have at least done things differently and made sure to have more separate time with them.

My German Shephard is learning quickly and doing well...but he snaps at my lure/hand when I’m leading in heel or pretty much anything. He will follow a command but when he knows I’m about to begin and have treats, he will always begin by snapping st my hands. He’s not aggressive in it but puppy teeth hurt lol. He’s also 40lb at 14wk so he’s big too. How can I stop that? He doesn’t nip any other time. We broke that early in...the literal teeth snap after a lure is what’s hard for me with him.

oh my goodness mine too! I have been working on recall commands and redirecting their focus to me, laying them down, then rewarding for being calm. they can't get angry at someone else while they're focused on loving me!!! I also have (mostly) taught them to "Let them pass!" which is to reward them for moving to let someone through or for coming back to you and laying down
