Thanks for the vid. I use a sterner no than that, but I try to avoid using fear to train (which is what anger does, dogs get scared when t hey see you're really frustrated with them). Stern no works. Just assertive, not aggressive. I wonder, is that just up to each person's personality?

Something cool would be a Puppy Training Calendar. This can help people with a guideline on how to train their puppy. For me I don't know if I am doing too little or too much and it would be nice to have a calendar with a date guideline but maybe even a time frame guideline!

1:20 -- most abundant to least, but if there is 1 cup fish, then next there is 3/4 cup brown rice, followed by 3/4 white rice, 3/4 cup wheat, 3/4 cup potatoes, 3/4 cup grain, 3/4 cup corn, etc. there is more carbs than meat, by far. Therefore, you need to look at the over all ingredients, and the amount of protein that is in the food, not just what is listed first 😉 and the opposite is true too... ...if there is 1 cup of rice, followed by 3/4 cup bison, 3/4 cup fish, 3/4 cup beef, 3/4 cup chicken, etc., then it is not a terrible food just because it started with a cup of rice

"You can gradually phase in a more normal voice but... Why would you want to?" Hahaha I realize after owning a puppy I spend more than half the time talking in a high pitch voice. Thanks for this content, really an amazing resource! I managed to teach my small pup some of the basics, prior to watching this. The first time he did "Sit" on his own took a day or two and I was SO Proud! Your methods are perfect though! I look forward to watching the whole series!

Zak, you really are the best of the best! I love how honest you are and you show the little mistakes that could happen along the way, no matter how on top of things or well trained YOU are. Also, I love that you allow all dogs to be dogs. You let them trample you sometimes and jump up and little things like that. I really hate it when people don’t let their dogs be dog. You show the perfect balance of training your dog REALLY WELL and still letting them be silly and goofy and do dog things

I started training leave it last night and our puppy was doing so well (Training with dry kibble). So I tried to show my wife how well he was doing. I used the training treats that he REALLY likes. They barely touched the ground and they were gone. I changed the variable and it bit me in the butt LOL. Thanks for the videos Zak.

Wow! Incredible. My puppy can be really really distracted and it can be hard to get his attention. I started wearing him out with toys and then tried the exercise for leaving treats. It took him a bit, but after 5 mins or so I was waving it in front of his face and he'd smell it but not bite until I said yes!! Thank you so much! Can't wait to keep watching!!

After watching this video and doing 10 minutes of the leave it session x2 it worked wonders with my 10 year old Jack Russell. When i was in the garden he was about to eat something that he shouldnt. One clear call of "leave it" and guess what he left it !!! The only thing i didnt have was a treat as he looked straight up for it, but i think the praise worked.

I was first introduced to Zak George's training method through my nannying job. The mom's boyfriend was using this to train his new rescue pitbull to become a service dog. Seeing the quick and long lasting results I then began copying what little I knew to train the family's rambunctious, impossible, frustrating, and sweet sweet one year old husky with promising results. After time I left that family and now live with my nearly 11 year old Chihuahua for the first time in 3 years. He is as untrained as dogs can be, but not for lack of trying. And yet after listening to part of one of the books and watching so many videos, I have taught my Bubbles more in one day than I have in over a decade. And I've never felt like I've communicated with him better. Thank you Zak, you've changed mine and Bubbles' lives so much for the better. And I can't wait for his next training session

I work at a dog daycare and I didn't know anything before I saw your videos. I constantly got in trouble at work I was always told it was doing things wrong and I have like an office in the back and I just looked up dog trainer on KZbin and I found your channel. My boss was thrilled that I was watching you and she buys all your books and watches you all the time . I swear she is like your biggest fan and you guys train so much like she really has taught me a lot and she learned everything from you. I watched like some of the other dog trainers that do the more discipline route when I first started working there and saw what I have been watching for years is so wrong and dogs don't even learn like that so I mean I have so many videos where I'm showing it from beginning to end and I'm training like a lot of rescues and it is crazy with the crown virus how many puppies are being adopted out. A lot of malteses and bichons I noticed. Your channel and products are really great. I like that you advertise bark boxes and other products. They are much better for the clientele that watches your videos then advertisements. You're a great job on your channel and this new series is great I really like it. I swear I am like baffled it how are you can have so many videos for training dogs and how I learn more and more all the time period everyday at work I watch you for a few hours and the dogs love you too lol. I have them on private view some of my dog's training videos that I try to mimic you LOL
