I'm still trying to find out what I can do at home with no swimming pool and the gym closed. 😒 I tried challenging my kids with daily sessions of "Just dance", but they got bored pretty soon. Today I tried cycling instead. I musst say, I'm really having a hard time without swimming. 😓

It seems that here in Spain they will extend the quarantine for another two weeks at least. More videos like this one, showing home workouts for triathletes, are very very welcome in these difficult times. Thank you Heather and the whole GTN crew for your hard work. Thanks so much for this. Pools and gyms everywhere are closed, and being from the frozen north, OWS is not a solution with frozen ponds. My triathlon is still scheduled and has me nervous about the swim if things stay this way. Keep these videos coming!

"Maybe try 8 reps to start with" - I just about get through 2 or 3... If I do this for 12 weeks where will my swimming end up? Planning ahead to when more of us might not be able to leave the house for a while (or the garden thank goodness) - how about a skipping video? I'm thinking of making myself a skipping rope but haven't used one since school.

As I work with kids, it's always good to spice things up. For them it's fun but also work Forwrd summersult and stand up and jump (Without touching the floor with your Hands to stand) or Forward summersult and stand but only on one leg (again not using your hands) Obvious this is training your flipturns Press ups I can get away with but Sideplanks with leg raises are hated tho ;) Great vid

Hi Heather! Have you tried the Zen8 swim trainer? Since pool subscription in France are expensive and open water swimming is not always possible (especially in winter in Brittany), I was thinking on buying one of those trainer. What are your thoughts about this?

tricep dips strain your shoulders. If you must do them, turn your hands outward to reduce shoulder strain. A better choice is a cobra pushup as that also engages the full tricep muscle.

Turning your hands outwards is then externally rotating your humerus and would actually put just as much strain on the shoulder and probably more on the wrist. If however you have tricep dip bars then of course that is preferrable and easier.

Completely off topic from this video, however it came to me while watching it. What if GTN, GCN and heck, let's throw in those guys riding weird looking bikes on GMBN, get a whole bunch of their presenters and do a group ride on Zwift. Might be a nice opportunity to get the whole gang together during these trying times for a nice ride and chat. Just throwing the idea out there. Cheers.

Great video, Heather, I did a workout session using this routine and expanding it just a bit - I added stretch cords and some wind sprints to the end of my street after every group of three exercises. 3 rounds total. Question: what is the brand and model of the shoes/trainers you are wearing in this video? I’d like to investigate whether they are available in the USA. Thanks.

If you're looking for good running shoes, Brooks has some. I have a pair of trail running shoes for cross-country training and they've lasted me three years of almost daily use with minimal wear-and-tear.

I live in South Korea. If you talk swimming with any of the locals- they look at you like you are speaking another language. The vast majority live in metropolitan type areas that are not really close to water (with the exception of Busan-- Seoul is mostly mud sand on the west). Pools are VERY few and far between. Try to swim in the open ocean above waist high water and lifeguards on jetskis are being called into come rescue you. I have never been somewhere that is 3/4's of the way surrounded by water and so few people know how to actually swim and not doggy paddle. Thank you for the tips on exercise. COVID has basically taken travelling back home off the table as I cannot afford to spend a month simply in quarantine and out of work!

Barish we are adapting to the situation along with the rest of the world. We have some videos filmed and edited before Corona hit the UK and at the moment some countries are still able to exercise outdoors. We will be bringing a mix of videos to cater for everyone in the next week or so.
