I also found vbar cable pushdown to be the most effective for me, but unfortunately due to pandemic, i quit the gym and do not have access to cable machine anymore. Thankfully I do have a squat rack at home and some basic bands and weights at home, so I can still do bench, bent over rows, and squats. I'm having a hard time giving my triceps an isolated pump though =[

Fun fact: ninjas were "typical samurai" too so they wouldn't carry the sword on the back either. Tbh the only case in history where we see people with swords on the back is when they don't have to unsheathe it from there (transporting larger weapon when you have a sidearm and such)

Word of caution to those who might be excited to all out on triceps work, I recently developed tendonitis on my right elbow from some heavy triceps pushdowns. I didn't really notice anything during the training, but the following days I knew I overdid it when I realized it was strained pretty good. Would hurt like hell simply tapping my elbow on something by accident. Ontop of it all, it takes over a month for this to slowly heal to the point you can actually do any pushing or triceps work again. Not fun at all. Take it easy as this tendon can easily be stressed, just like many shoulder related workouts can easily cause an issue. I rarely develop injuries in lifting and this has been annoying.
@sid31764 ай бұрын
Do you have an update on your elbow pain?
@Jason-wc3fh4 ай бұрын
@@sid3176 Yeah. I avoided anything too stressful on it, focused more on some deep tissue myofascial release and went back with a little more focus on cleaner, more controlled lifts with less weight and been good since. It seemed my ego to really lift heavy got in the way.

Hi Eugene. Great content as usual. Would be really interesting if you could go into more depth on the carrying angle and its effect on upper body pressing and pushing. Having had a number of shoulder surgeries and cervical neck issue's......i find that the carry angle that you describe as the position that promotes most pain relief. However, when pressing we are encouraged to have the elbows tucked more......as apposed to a more "converging" position

Loved the video. Short, concise, and offers great value. One question, though. You mentioned that stability really isnt a good or bad thing, but just a quality of the exercise. In a prior video your did on exercises for quarantine conditions, you suggested instability stimulates more fiber recruitment, and therefore would be great for hypertrophy, but i dont see how this could be, considering stability is a requirement for overloading capability.
