Thank you for this episode. I've been noticing how often I project neediness so habitually, and I would like to really change that about myself.

21:39 The well analogy is really good. I look forward to be able to overflow with love and fun so I can also share it with other people, rather than trying to get people to fulfill me out of my own neediness, which affected not only my love life but social life as well. But these episodes always remind to focus on the therapeutic process and in time I'll understand and take of these parts of mine so that they can have their needs met and take on healthier roles!

David I had another question but regarding science. I was reading about Martie Haselton and her book hormonal in which she talked about how women are attracted to masculine features like deep voice and facial symmetry during the ovulation phase which can be a potential driver for cheating. What are your thoughts on this as someone who has studied evo psych. Does that kind of attraction override rational thought & emotional connection with partners in women? Is that particular biological attraction even stronger than the psychological concept of the dual dynamic ( exiled parts) and sexual chemistry? Or is the preference for masculine features during ovulation just a *preference*? Are average men doomed😂?

Yes, as far as I know, those findings about ovulation and attraction are well established - also regarding more “masculine” features like more prominent jaw and brow. But what does this matter? Morality is always *despite what your natural inclinations are. I suppose the fear you’re expressing is that women (unlike men?) are biologically incapable of surmounting their naturally evolved responses. I don’t share that fear. Similarly, I have a natural desire for sugary foods that I have no evolved defenses against, such as Krispy Kreme donuts, yet I have the willpower to resist them ;) So yes, it’s just a “preference.”

@@DavidTian What I meant was that while I can understand the attraction bit (its not as if women do not like masculine features😂), like the video you made on the dual dynamic and chemistry, attraction does not necessarily translate to a good or pleasurable sexual encounter/experience. Emotions and connection play a very important role. Even that attraction that they have i think is the equivalent of men's reaction to seeing a woman with big breasts and ass. Attraction does not equate to a pleasurable sexual experience. Like you said sex psychology is more influential than technique and psychology is emotions.
