When I learned scuba diving deep under water at 60 feet, I was breathing in normally, but I could not breath out fully, from fear or something... and when the time was going on... my breathing was shallower and shallower.... I barely passed my exam down there and needed to get out as soon as possible, or suffer self suffocation. The same applies here, if you watched many inspirational lectures and read many inspirational thoughts, and listened to podcasts and audio books.... and if that did not help you to change for the better... you need to stop it. Stop receiving and focus on what you can give. Discover one thing you are good at. Do it many times. Grow the little unique skill into something bigger. Stick to it and as long as you are growing, it doesn't matter how long it takes, a month, a year, or a decade, Follow what makes you grow... do not compare yourself to anybody, but instead, compare yourself today to yesterday, capture your own growth. Please do not give up, please proactive giving.

I am so impressed by your work and look forward to each video and share them incessantly. :-) I’m so eager and excited that you’re considering doing a video about sitting with harder emotions. This is the work that heals our souls and allows us to be prepared to share gifts with the world. Thank you for doing that and your own sacred way through KZbin. You have a gift and I’m so happy to receive and share it! Keep going, Goddess!🤲🏽❤️🦋

Love how personal experiences, anecdotes, and observations are woven into the message. Reminded of Zig Ziglar’s talk on “eliminate the stinkin’ thinkin’”. Your take is so relevant, fresh, and modern. Looking forward to your next video. Sorry so long…..

I have noticed that generally when i am talking to myself i am super kind and compassionate. It is in the moments of fear of judgement that i feel the negative self talk come up, it is in a quite subtle form though, sort of sneaky.. Say i enter a room i will start to think how "cool" or "confident" everyone is which can throw me off depending on how i am feeling. I will either join the confidence or feel inferior which in a way is putting others up and myself down.. Thank you so much for all your videos Dia!! Every time you upload i get so excited to watch them, they are so well articulated and it helps me to reflect/become more aware of what i am doing/who i am. 🤎

Aww I’m so glad to hear. And it’s natural to have all the feelings! I can’t imagine all of us walking around robotic and perfect and unbothered 24/7. I think key is shifting and finding more time in the nourishing and nutritive side of the spectrum when it comes to our inner dialogue 🩵🫶

It's amazing how our inner dialogue can be so kind and compassionate when we're alone, but then that subtle, sneaky negative self-talk creeps in during moments of vulnerability, especially around others. It's like we start comparing ourselves and either rise to the occasion or shrink back, depending on how we feel.

OMG. that's a heptapod glyph on the wall. Love Arrival, even though it muffs a couple of sociolinguistic concepts. Nice clip - plays to preference for CBT nested inside a zen framework.

I was a linguistic major in college! I remember when the film came out one of our professor was so excited that the leading character is a linguist haha

@@DiaJin interesting! I had a prof at Fudan who was delighted to discover my linguistics background and we were always going off script discussing Shanghainese.

to not be negative or angry I became almost unemotional in a sense. i do feel happiness and other emotions but it probably lasts for a minute until it just disappears. just un a state of middle.

Happiness and joy feels fleeting unless we intentionally linger on them. But yes, I believe we can’t selectively shut out emotions, if some are unexpressed or dimmed then others can be too. I’m relearning n practicing feeling my feelings 😚
