How to travel the world and get paid

Hi Adell, thanks for sharing. I’d like to share an alternate view... I know a lot of people view “traveling the world” as living the ultimate dream, but I can say as a former traveler myself that that is not true. I’ve traveled to many countries as an English teacher and loved my job, but I struggled (and have always struggled) with connecting with other people. It is extremely difficult for me to make friends. I would find myself in the most beautiful, exotic places in the world, surrounded by nomadic travelers like myself, but I would cry in my room because I felt so alone and didn’t know how to have a substantial conversation with anyone. I can’t explain it; I don’t know why that is so difficult for me. I realized that traveling did not allow me to escape my reality like I thought it would. Over time I have learned to be content with wherever I am, even if that’s sleeping in my parent’s guest room for a season. When people see how much I used to travel and tell me how envious they are, I always tell them that a place is just a place. I’m very thankful to have been the places that I have been...I found my now-husband while traveling in Thailand! Who would have thought! But I would never think someone was “afraid of chasing their dreams” if they were simply content with where they were in life.

Just wanted to let you know that I have been following you on Instagram and came to You Tube to find you and found this video. I just wanted to make sure to tell you that you are wise beyond your years. You are truly on the right path. Throughout my 20’s I was an expat all around the Caribbean. Now 48 with a family I look back and wish I truly appreciated working all over these beautiful islands. All I ever complained about how they would run out of water or the electricity would not be on sometimes. I look back and think back how unappreciative I was for those incredible opportunities and feel like I should have taken all these difficulties with a different mindset. Anyways I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your light. 🌸👌🏼
