My parents did this with me and my sister without a lot of money. Sometimes we stayed in tents or camper vans or other creative ways to travel cheaply. We also traded houses sometimes. We also were pulled out of school for 3 months at a time and went to africa, Australia etc and it totally helped make me who I am. Some teachers grumbled at first but then helped make it happen. I want to do a similar thing with my kids.

This man values his family! His priorities will benefit his children for generations. He has opened up the world to them. They will know because of experience not just the internet or books alone. He shines from satisfaction. His money truly serves! I admire this man!

Vishen. You the "CEO" can leave for the whole month of June. That is the available month for vacation in the US. Would you let all your employees who have kids do the same thing? I am sure you wouldn't.
@BillyVatcher7 жыл бұрын
Good call. Vishen should make it so everyone has a month off for travel as well.

Did I hear you say that the USA standard vacation days are just 10? Is that right. It seems really low. In the UK we have 20 or 25 and as a self employed business owner I have much more flexibility. I live and work with my partner and we regularly take trips abroad where we can work anywhere we choose. With an internet connection life is so much more flexible for us. Travel definitely broadens the mind.

Unfortunately this really only applies if your a laptop worker. Taxi drivers,middle managers,shop workers /owners etc need not apply.I agree with o/s holidays for expanding your inquisitiveness.

'If you take 3 to 4 weeks of vaca a year you are 30 to 40 percent times more likely to get promoted over someone who doesn't ' I know this to be true but not for the reason you may think. I filled in for a guy who retired and worked my butt off for a year to do both jobs. Meanwhile a coworker applied for the job and took off a couple of months, got other coworkers to do her job (they were upset because they already were overworked) she did a half job when she got back and she was awarded the job. For me it would have been a promotion into a position I was already doing. For her it was a transfer. I think the reason was the hiring team could equate themselves with her. She is doing okay but still tries toshuffle off work to reluctant coworkers who know they are being used and I am lucky I didn't get it because some personal issues in my family have kept me pretty busy Andi am happy not to work so hard. Ps. She found out the job was a lot more work than she thought it would be!

This is easy with money if you don’t have the spare cash to be able to put any aside this is an impossible dream . I would love to do this with my kids I have 4 kids and by the time all my bills are paid I cannot possible afford to take us all away on holiday . Can you give us ideas of how this can be done with limited funds ?
@captainshiggles6 жыл бұрын
Hmm. Only way I can do this is if I have another career. Mine requires me to be present physically unfortunately. Also, I still don’t feel my why as to do world traveling. That’s what weirds people out.

This is an awesome idea, but it's absolutely delusional to believe that 50% of people have the ability to do this. Perhaps 50% of "white collar" workers could feasibly accomplish this. However, for every white collar worker there are prob 10-100 "blue collar" workers for whom this would be an impossibility. Again, I like the premise, I enjoy traveling as much and often as possible, I do take my vacation days, but 50% of people can live this lifestyle? Really?
