@@halimaerrami4173 I do exactly what Dr. Dray explained. At night, I wash my face with a benzoyl peroxide wash, rinse it and then apply my moisturizer on my wet face. Once it's dry, I apply the Differin. The next morning I just splash some water on my face to wake up, pat dry and apply my sunscreen. That's all I do.

Dr Dray, Can you make a video explaining all different types of acne with pictures so it's better to understand? Explaining everything...types of closed comedones and open comedones. I think pictures will help us to differentiate everything properly. There is so much misinformation online so I think this would be great to properly educate everyone.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU DOCTOR!!!!! I’ve been struggling with comedogenic acne for 5 months, I don’t know why. I’m 27 yo and I’ve never dealt with acne issues before. I’ve got really scared, I’ve tried many products and nothing worked... Now it’s been only 4 days since I’ve started using benzoyl peroxide 10%, (same formula of zapzyt in my country) and it’s almost everything gone! My forehead was fully covered with those small “closed” points. Some became red and painful normal zits, but they’re leaving my face as well... I think my face will look normal again in 2 weeks! Thank you again 💕

I had used the cerave foaming cleanser for two months. It had niacinamide and ceriamides. I know air conditioning and heaters dried out my skin along with a hair conditioner with essential oils by ors ruined my skin. But I normally use acne wash to keep my skin clear and by changing that product my whole face broke out . It did not wash away everything including hair products in shower and night time face washing.

But then I break out on my T zone and get these closed comedones on my forehead. I have used the ordinary azelaic acid, but really don't like the weird powdery texture.. It makes my skin feel tight and dry afterwards. I have seen it help my skin a bit, but I have much more faith in Paua's choice. Plus, right now you can get it in the travel size for $10. I got it for $8 through a sale.

@@ebonystone8890 Hi. I have since figured out that “butylene glycol” is what clogs my pores. Every aha treatment I have used w it broke me out. The higher on the list the worse my skin. Rt now I’m using derma e overnight peel. It feels heavy so I don’t moisturize & just use it. It’s gentle but works ok. The cosrx whitehead liquid worked really well at exfoliating but clogged some pores. Also has butylene glycol

Dr Dray thank you so much for your great content 🙌🏻! I've just bought La Roche Posay SPF 50 - anti-imperfections (with salicylic acid). Do you recommend not using another leave-on product containing salicylic acid at nightime? Also, is it safe to use it all over my face? I'm concerned with my undereyes area. From what I understood from your previous videos, it also needs protection. Thank you 😊

11:10 - It's not just benzoyl peroxide that has been left on the skin that bleaches stuff, because I found that after a shower after using it on my arm pits (as recommended by Dr Dray to replace deodorant and yes it does work), when I dry my armpits, that bleaches the heck out of the towel (after a lot of rinsing). Now I think this definitely has something to do with my underarm hair, like maybe it's soaking it up a bit and it's not all rinsing out or something I dunno. A lot of surface area with the hair. Beats me. Clearly this doesn't happen with other areas of the body or Dr Dray would say so, and she doesn't have hairy armpits (she does the same thing). So if I care about the particular towel, I let my armpits airdry. But once I'm dry, nothing is going to get bleached anymore.

Acne Free has a cleanser that is 2.5% BP, a milk texture and quite gentle! I know just about every other Acne Free product is junk, except this one. It’s the Oil Free Acne Cleanser. I can’t stand leave on BP products because they bleach. I just use it as a short contact therapy “mask”. Apply, leave on a few minutes, wash off in the shower. I believe CeraVe is also coming out with a foaming 5% BP wash. I use the La roche Posay Adapalene and love it! Somehow it seems to spread much more smoothly than Differin, and it’s a better buy when you have 20% off coupons for Walgreens and Lovelyskin!

However, I have hundreds of comedones that are stressing me the hell out. I used to have perfect clear skin and now it looks like garbage and I'm beyond stressed. Hi you can try using CeraVe Salicylic acid lotion. In that way you are managing the barrier plus the Salicylic acid will deal with those comedones. I think the vaseline you are using might not help your case as it will end up clogging your pores more. On the other hand if you just want to focus on repairing your barrier, just use the Cerave in the tub moisturizer.

You might have a damaged skin barrier, which can be a cause of acne. To fix that use a good moisturizer. I’d recommend CeraVe moisturizing cream for normal to dry skin. It’s noncomedogenic and it has 3 ceramides to help repair the skin barrier. Steaming your face can also help loosen any dirt if you haven’t tried that yet. Also keep in mind that it can take a few months for acne to clear up. I hope this helps. :)

Hi Dr. Dray! I tried differin on one half of my face on my comedonal acne as a test and after 5 months I was still purging on the treated side with no end in sight and severe scarring so I stopped. I’m wondering if I would have the same reaction to other topical meds in the retinoid family or if something like retin A may have a different effect. I don’t want to put myself through more months of scarring for nothing. I use a SA wash and BP gel which keeps my comedonal acne from turning into inflammatory cystic acne but nothing seems to budge the comedones.
