Omg yay I found my people! When I was still in high school, oil sheets were my drug. And no matter where I swiped it on my face, it would pick up tons of oil. Despite being oily as hell, my skin felt rough and dry to the touch so it never made sense to me. I only really started doing serious skincare in college, and let me tell you. I went from flaking yet oily U zone and oil factory T zone to a balanced combination skin. Dehydrated skin really makes you confused big time. @@christyfielding7498 Well, if you aren't getting enough water, it can make a difference... but drinking it in excess won't make a big difference.
@cjaneg973 жыл бұрын
@@christyfielding7498 It does and doesn't. If you are dehydrated (as in you don't drink enough fluids) it will affect your skin negatively. However if you are adequately hydrated drinking more water won't improve your skin. Also if you aren't treating your skin topically (i.e. using a moisturizer) drinking water, even when dehydrated, won't help you skin all that much. It's kind of like when you are cold your body redirects heat from your extremities (i.e. hands, feet) to keep vital organs warm, but this alone won't help you if you don't go into a warm place or bundle up. If you are dehydrated your body will redirect "hydration" away from your skin to more vital organs, but even to begin with your skin only gets a small % of hydration because your body's main focus is not healthy glowing skin. That's why most people say drinking water won't help you skin because it is truly a small factor and won't help to the extent most people are looking for. However I think people should be thinking/talking about a more balance approach that encompasses nutrition, hydration, and skincare. You could have the best skincare routine ever but if you don't factor in your health it will never work to it's full potential. ***This all coming from someone who is dehydrated, needs a better diet (as in nutrition not "diet"), and needs to put more energy into their health, but knows it's often not as easy as it sounds. TL;DR - Drinking more water may or may not help, but it definitely wouldn't hurt.

Hi, Hyram! Just so you know, "Joseon" is pronounced like "Cho-sun" (or "chosen" but with no emphasis on either syllable). It is the word for "Korea" in Korean (at least before North and South were split--it's the name of the last Korean Dynasty). =] Thank you for these videos!

Ah hell no it isn't. Just read it with J not C. Many korean words are misrepresented in their english spelling, it's actually worse than japanese. Hi fellow oily-skin people! If you're trying to decide between the Rovectin and IUNIK water gel moisturizers, I've tried both! Rovectin is a little more hydrating with a little bit dewy finish. If you like the moist/glass skin look, you'll prefer this. IUNIK is a little less hydrating with a more natural matte finish. If you like a kind of soft-matte feeling with no greasiness, tackiness, dewyness, JUST SKIN (sort of like how silicone/dimethicone primers feel), then you'll prefer the IUNIK. P.S. If you're worried about the fragrance in the IUNIK, I can say that once I accidentally NUKED my moisture barrier with Nizoral shampoo, the YTTP Cleanser, and Paula's Choice 2% BHA, and my skin was so stripped, irritated, and dry that I couldn't use any other products for days -- but I could use the IUNIK moisturizer. It didn't burn or sting at all!

To yall struggling with fungal acne AND dehydration, I highly recommend squalane oil(I use the Timeless squalane oil) as your moisturizer. However you need to have other hydrating steps in your routine because a facial oil is not as complete as a traditional moisturizer. ANYWAY, once I started using squalane oil, my face has been SUPER SOFT for a very long time, like before this, I can feel my dehydration kicking in a few hours before my evening cleanse. Now, whenever I do my evening cleanse, I can actually feel my face super soft still. It's amazing honestly. Also, it's a dry oil(?), so it won't leave you feeling greasy etc but still provide a beautiful glow. Go get it now! It's fungal acne safe, non comodogenic and so good for acne prone skin.

Pro tip from a central Wisconsinite if you’re struggling with dehydration!! Winter is not my skin’s friend🙃 Before applying your moisturizer at night, just dab some water onto your face, THEN apply the moisturizer over it (or a serum first, then moisturizer). Feels super weird but it really helps seal that water into your skin. Also make sure use a thicker moisturizer like that one Hyram suggested. I spent most my life thinking I had dry skin then I moved to Paris and went to a pharmacy to buy skincare. The lady who could have been my mum and who clearly knew what she was talking about barely looked at me and said "you're not dry. You're combination dehydrated". My skin has never been better since.

I just got that SkinFix product yesterday! Tried it last night and really enjoyed it. I have learned that I have very dry skin, which I did not realize. Watching @HarliG skin care video really opened my eyes to the fact that I might acutally have opposite skin than I thought! I've been feeling like I need a rich moisturizer because I always feel dry when I wake even when I use a "hydrating" moisturizer before bed. Now I'm looking for something to properly moisturize during the day. Can't wait to try a few of the products you mentioned! Also, bless your sponsor for allowing a video with other recommendations outside of their brand!

I feel ya ! I used tret for three years and my face never got used to using it no matter what I did ( and I only used it 3x a week)and even if I buffered-my face was always dry😭 so I finally decided this week to give up on tret and in a few months start on a less strong kind of retinol. Also I realized that when I was on tret it caused my hair to shed so much-and if you look online a lot of people talk about that too.( I have thick curly hair that sh sheds in general but in 2020 especially I know this is shedding more )

I think you just solved a huge mystery for me! I have a medical condition that causes me to tend towards full-body dehydration, but highly sensitive, reactive, sometimes dry, sometimes oily skin (and scalp). I kept looking at my skin and thinking: it seems like it is dry, but it's not actually "dry," it's "deflated" and weirdly textured. Never once did I think that the systematic dehydration was affecting my skin. This makes SO MUCH sense now. I have trouble w moisturizers bc many are thick, which makes me sweat, which makes fungus grow on my face overnight (yay), but some of the gels/serums might work. I was so focused on the outer layer/dryness that I never thought moisture isn't getting locked IN.

OMG OMG this video helped so much!! Now I understand why my skin is being so mean to me. I’m oily but I still feel like dry especially when I wash my face and times I’ve over stripped my skin so like eee. Especially where I live, winter kinda affected my skin to be flaky and dry, yet still have blemishes and breakouts (not severely) yet felt oily. My skin is starting to get oily now and breaking out a little more and I don’t have any treatments because I wasn’t so sure what was my issue, but now that I realize my skin is dehydrated, I have better knowledge what products I’m gonna get to have a better skincare routine! I’ve learned so much watching your videos that I’ve introduced skincare to some people and love it! Your so amazing Hyram! Love u❤️

What people don t know is that it s a difference between dry skin and dehydrated skin. Dry skin is repaired with a good moisturizer cause the dryness is more on the skin surface and face cream basically attracts moisture and creates a barrier like. Dehydrated skin is treated with serums. Serums molecule i think goes deeper and somehow hydrates on a different way while moisturizing is like bringing that hydration to the surface on the skin to heal dryness. Dehydrated skin can also be the cause of not drinking enough water and it can lead to wrinkles of not treated on time. That hydrated skin feels like ur skin is very tight. Moisturizer has a temporary effect on it. Hope i made myself clear this is my knowledge on this subject. I really hope hyram reads this.

What do you call a skin type which remains dry ass without any skincare, gets oily (and shiny) with any form of skincare on it and gets SUPER sweaty (like sweat drenched) pretty much whenever I go out.
@gemmacook17532 жыл бұрын
You need to keep up with your skincare, the reason it feels even more oily is because you haven't used skincare for a bit, when you do, your face is still over producing oils because it has adapted to being very dry and when you add product, they both add together and makes you think its making you more oily. Some people refer to it as a purge, you will likely have a breakout but keep up with your routine within a week your skin will start to adapt to the new routine and reduce its oil production, skincare takes time to work, it takes a full month to shed our skin so you won't feel the full benefit for that month but you will notice a reduction in how oily you feel and that will continue to get better as time moves on, if after month you're still very very oily, then you need to start changing one product at a time, some people will take one product out of the routine to see if there is a difference and pin point what the problematic product is, and then when you figure it out, you buy a new product that better suits your skin and then use that for a month and see how it goes. Its a lot of trial and error I'm afraid, I tend to use up the product even if I'm not happy with it and then move on otherwise I would have half empty bottles everywhere and a very unhappy bank account. I wish you luck.

Hey everyone! I’ve been following Hyram for quite some time now and it has helped SO MUCH with my acne so far and I am so thankful. Although I still get some pimples on my chin, I think cystic? I am not sure what I am doing wrong… I use Cerave Hydrating Cleanser and Moisturizer every morning and night. And in the morning I use The Ordinary Niacinamide and at night I use the Murad InvisiScar Resurfacing Treatment. I also have a silk pillow case, eat healthy and drink a lot of water. So I am not sure why I am still getting acne that results in bad scars! It might be because of stress/hormones or from wearing a mask, but I am desperate to try to find a solution and get my confidence back. I was really hoping you fellow subscribers could try and help a girl out. I just started to get bad acne 2 years ago and it's been such a struggle to try to have clear skin again:(
