Excellent video! I took your class and have been grooming my Chester (Lhasa Alpso -poodle) for over a year now. You answered my questions about trimming the hair under his ears and the muzzle beard and mustache. I do love to use the scissor and blending shears. Chester just relaxes his head and gives me full control. It is such a great bonding time together ❤

Thank you Amy! I am hoping to get better with my dog's face. Stewie is a Havapoo. I think I need to get your curved scissors .I have your Sapphire blending and straight edge. Kenchii is out of stock on the curved ones. I always wondered if I was supposed to cut any of the hair underneath his eyes? From this video, I would say no. I will keep plugging along!

You are an awesome teacher. How do you cut the hair around ears and face if your girl has a topknot? I'm never sure about that section.

Would your sapphire shears be just as good as the murphy detailers you mentioned? I have a adult havanese a d getting ready to have a puppy havanese. I have some Kenchi love shears but wanted a curved pair and thinner now as well
@GoGroomer Жыл бұрын
My shears are safer because they are designed for the beginner. As a beginner, you may not want an aggressive shear because you have not gained the experience needed to add blending shears into the mix. The curved shears are fabulous too.

If a home groomer would have to choose 2-3 shears for a maltese or Shitzu or any small dog, what would you recommend and what brand?
@GoGroomer2 жыл бұрын
My Sapphire curved shear and the scorpion blending shear both made and sold by kenchii.

Thank you for such a quick response Amy! I just ordered the 30 blade for my new Kenchii Flash so I can use the Flash blades….thanks to you! 👏👏 and now I’ll go back online to their site and look up the shears you have referenced and get those too. I’m just a little nervous with the sharp ends so that’s why I questioned about getting the ball tip 😉 One last question….on my MalShi, should I try using the shears and comb method first and then see next time about combining it with the Kenchii Flash OR would you say to go ahead and use the Flash clipper and finish with the shears/comb? You literally are THE BEST Amy…not just groomer but a gifted teacher as well 🤩

Hi Amy! Would you recommend Kenchii straight and curved ball tip scissors for the home groomer? 6.5” for keeping mal-shi hair shorter rather than longer? Or 7”

Sapphire curved shear.

Which would be the better blending shears for a beginner? Thinning or Chunker?
@GoGroomer2 жыл бұрын
Sapphire 52 tooth blender for a beginner groomer. Chunker shears are too aggressive for the beginner groomer.

Can you do a video on how to make the dog sit still while grooming. My dog keeps want to turn around on the table or climb up on me. I have a one arm over the table with to rope holders. I’m afraid she is going to choke herself.
