Looking forward to getting out on track. We have added 5% of fuel to the rear rotor which should see egt’s being much more even. Will more than likely have some fuel to pull out of the overall tune up, which means more power !

Very insightful Broomy 👍 Bill from SRC has a vid on his channel about why AFR is not the be all and end all in tuning, to rich and it can look lean. Also you will always be a winner in the "red FD wrapped white with radials and a fueltech" class to me :D

This data overview is really cool to see and gives me ideas to try on my own tuning. Although I have never touched a rotary I love learning about them and seeing how to tune them from your channel is really interesting. Thanks for the content keep it up

Excellent video. Just started tuning my car after installing an FT550. Do you know what the difference is between "O2 General" and "O2 Closed loop"?

How do you get the live trace to pop on while tuning fuel map on dyno? I've tried everything and can't get a live trace on fuel table while it's running on the dyno. First time using fueltech
@BroomysGarage Жыл бұрын
Should show up on the map as long as the two green connection icons are active for connected to ecu. Will just hover over whatever cell. If you want to look after a run, download the log and then open log file and there is an icon up the top of screen that will show your trace over your fuel map

Will you be able to continue collecting all this data as you progress ? or is some of it only available during the dyno sessions ? Look forward to seeing the track day !
@BroomysGarage2 жыл бұрын
All this data is from the ecu, so yes it’s all available.

i let the closed loop on extremely high 100% usually on a holley, it will save your ass more than it will cause a problem, just me though

Yeah, a piston engine with 720 degree cycle will have 17ms between ignition/injection events at say 7000rpm. Turning this to 10000 rpm, a rotary has 6ms. So there is significantly less time for the ecu to gather data, make a decision, make a change and then wait to see if that change has worked and then start the cycle all again. I would run it on a piston engine too no problems.

Awesome content. Thanks for an insight into data analysis and tuning. Is it a semi pp engine with a bridgeport?
@BroomysGarage2 жыл бұрын
It is a semi PP with a tiny secondary bridge. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fHuTfpuEqaaFsNE

When you have 3.5, 4.1 AFR, what ratio is that in? I'm not familiar with methanol but the figure doesn't look like lambda either.
@BroomysGarage2 жыл бұрын
That is the methanol afr scale. Methanol stoic is about 6.5:1, so in lambda 3.5 would be 3.5/6.5 = 0.54

@@BroomysGarage i watch all your stuff love it!!! i am setting up another drag car and going with the fueltech 450. my other car had a haltech and m&w ignition. i have a S5 built block and want to setup the ecu . it has the s5 crack sensor. Can i use the fueltech ignition system or go back to the M&W? just need some maps to get started.
@BroomysGarage Жыл бұрын
The m&w unit is a cdi, so depends if you want to run normal coil packs or run a cdi setup with the cdi coils. IGN1A coils by themselves are fine to about 30psi on e85 with a rotary I find. I run the fueltech spark 4 cdi just because it’s always going to give the most spark energy.
@louyr6672 Жыл бұрын
@@BroomysGarage thanks bud. i will go with the spark4 cdi as i will looking for 30-35psi. Also when i am ready do you mind helping me with the setup with the sensors and first page of the inputs?
