When my ex and I bought our 1st house I made it a point for her and I to go introduce ourselves to all our neighbors, we exchanged our phone numbers with several of them. We were the young couple in our late 20's, and everyone else was in their 50's-70's so we would always get fresh produce from their gardens, some of them hunted and would give us elk and deer, and I would help them with tech shit. Everyone should do this when they move somewhere, it's important to know the people around you.

TL;DW: If it is too challenging, break it into smaller chunks so that you don't get overwhelmed by it. If it is not challenging at all and you have the skills to do it easily, make it interesting by raising up the challenge. If you are studying programming, for example, and it is too hard for you, try first just following a simple tutorial, like printing something on the screen. If it is too easy, do what the tutorial is saying but also personalize it a little, tweaking something to give it your own flavor. If you are studying calculus, start by approaching the single most simple thing you can't understand yet. As things got easier, if you are getting bored, you can try to write a small article trying to explain it to a kid, make music about it, or even make a video about it.

On failure, you want feedback to know you’re failing so you can realize that you can improve in an area. This is one reason why failure by doing nothing/omission is so bad, as it’s harder to improve without feedback. One could imagine the scenario, .but one should be mindful to not miss important points that external feedback that gives. I think both tools of imagining feedback and external feedback are useful. At the same time, you want to avoid heavy/burdensome consequences from failure. One tool is imagine the worst case and average case.

Maybe talk with Markiplier, I feel a discussion with him would bring a lot of insight. In one of his videos with his mom I noticed how supportive she has always been with him, and I feel that builds a certain confidence that will truly lead to success. Unfortunately not everyone is that lucky, I definitely wasn't. And yes, I see how another form of support, a supporting girlfriend, can definitely push you above and beyond. But unfortunately that is also difficult to find, someone right for you that is. What would interest me mostly is how do you overcome the LACK of support in your life? How do you find your inner motivation and go against everything COMPLETELY by yourself? In other words, how do you win at life on hardmode? I feel this is what most people need to hear, because many have no friends, no romantic partners, no supporting families. To me, the most important thing I want to discover is how to help myself, and how do I teach others to help themselves afterwards, because you cannot always rely on other people for support sadly and realistically. I had plenty of experience with this to know this for certain

40:30 "Talking about it is different from thinking about it." "[talking] makes it real." When I think of the talk with Wreckful about mantra I remember a line like "There a Talkers and there are Doers". I dont think one of these concepts is wrong, but where is the difference?
@joeljude91804 жыл бұрын
I don't think I have the right answer but I'll try since it's a good discussion. At the end of the day, you want to get to doing. For some people, talking is just ego. It's like hey, look at me, this is what I want to do, and it's just a distraction. For other people, just doing all the time with no talking gets bland. I think the difference is, are you also doing while you are talking, and also what are you talking about. It's fine to talk about your strategies, challenges, triumphs without dwelling on them. It's counterproductive to focus more on how people react to your talking than your doing. It's also something you need to check in the moment. When talking, ask yourself am I trying to learn about what I am doing, or am I trying to prove that I'm doing it. If you're trying to prove something, prove it by shutting up and doing it. If you're trying to learn, this is an important part of your overall arsenal.
@schmoorfderschmied17634 жыл бұрын
@@joeljude9180 I think in the past I had a hard time noticing whether I was trying to learn or not from conversations, even though I thought I would notice (Ego for example). l guess, I will have problems with that in the future, but I will try try to keep two instead of one eye on it. Now that I think about it... thinking back there is an ecstasy of chasing a new idea too. Perhaps I didnt want to think about the gritty little details, because, just as Dr. K said, the idea would be boring at that point. Perhaps its both; proving that I am doing stuff and not caring about more than the initial idea, which made and makes it hard for me to do stuff. This idea is new to me. Ill try monitoring it. Thanks for the input, man.
