A few days ago I started having issues with my old 2011 Escape with the touchscreen nav Sync. Suddenly I could no longer connect bluetooth audio. I searched high and low for an update file that worked and finally stumbled across your video. Update files worked the first time and the Sync system is working again. Thanks for keeping the files up!

Thanks for this. Ford doesn't say anything about initiating the install without the startup file. In regards to the sync: this is still a sync 2, I believe. I have a '11 Taurus and I watched the video because you have the same control buttons. Sync 3 is all touchscreen. I am interested in seeing if the upgrade kits to the sync 3 are compatible. Navigation update is separate and costs about $150, but it's from 2019, which kinda sucks in areas with new developments going up every week. Anyway, thanks again, saved me some headache.

Hello! I have a 2013 Mustang GT and I'm looking to update SYNC. However, when I go to Ford's website, they only give me the option to update at a dealership. Am I able to use the file in the description even though its a different year? It seems to be the same SYNC.

Honestly, I'm not sure. Grab the file regardless, just in case. You would have to research what it would affect on your system. Check for differences with a 2013 Mustang GT vs a 2011 Mustang GT sync options. See if you could backup your files first too.

I have an issue where it tells me I have an update but I cant download it to USB. My only option is to go to a dealer. Do you know a way around this?

I do not know a way around it. You might be able to search the net for generic files, that may work.

Love your video just got 1 question I bought my f150 truck from America (2010 model) has the same exact screen although the map is not compatible with the middle east its stuck in Philadelphia. Also i was wondering if i am able to screen mirror my phone onto the screen with a certain adapter. Thanks alot!

You would need an aftermarket system to do that, the stock one doesn't have the capabilities.

In the page, ford just allow me to pick the find dealer option, I don't see the option to update with flash drives. Someone has the file for the same stereo this mustang has? My truck F150 2011

It's possible for some vehicles to have the same files as others. There are only so many versions that the companies are willing to put out. Knowing who has the same files you would require verification through VIN decoding. Something I would only share with friends.

I cant get installation thing on my drive where do I download them like when I download the file it only downloads one and idk where to get the rest 😊

If it's a zip or rar file, you should unzip it. I'm thinking Ford is not letting owners do their own updates anymore, as most likely the dumb ones try and screw up the car system completely. I'm not sure though.

A few months ago , I was able to do the same to my Focus SE 2016 but put it off and now it's unavailable for me to do it gotta go to stealership ..one said about $170 and leave car for two weeks.. no thanks..

I get this error, While your VIN is valid, it looks like your vehicle isn’t equipped with a compatible version of SYNC®. Please verify that your VIN was entered correctly and try again. Do i have to pay for the sync updates ? is there any work around ?

The sync updates are free. Double check your VIN, it could not have an update for you vehicle associated with your VIN. I'm not sure if there is a work around. If you download and try to install the wrong files, you could mess up your sync system.

2012 Ford F250. Currently has Sync 1. Running on version 4.1.3. Available update is 4.6. Ford website states I need to visit the dealership. Anybody has a way around this ?

I'm not sure if there is. You might have to dig hard online to find the right files.

@@9806180I will say though that I have not found a way to turn off the voice from announcing “911 assist is set to off” every time I start my car so it’s kind of a trade off. The only reason I upgraded was to show my artist and song title in the tiny screen and to improve the Bluetooth connection. But Mann that voice is annoying to hear every time I start my car.

Honestly, I didn't really notice any change. I think the map part didn't get updated though, I looked again, and some roads still haven't shown up. Unless you're having issues with Sync, I wouldn't bother.

It does update it to sync 3.

My guess is that the files you need are not in their system. They could have removed files, so people would have to go to dealerships. Seems like a ripoff now though.

I pause the video when you turn your car off and more frustrated because the same thing happened to me in my raptor and I was like what the fuck I turn the car off lock the doors unlocked the doors and started it and it works
