Guitar players’ rigs and setups are now more creative than ever and can incorporate amps, pedals, rack gear and even computer-based plugins. Connecting and switching all of these things at the same time can be just as much of a challenge as getting the right tones. MIDI technology has been around since the 1980s as a method of switching multiple compatible devices at once, but the suitability to your setup depends entirely on the chosen control hardware, where most are either too complicated to set up or not flexible enough to do the job you want. Setting up your perfect custom configuration is done using our free PC or Mac software, with an intuitive graphical view of the footcontroller and the ability to choose message types and even set minimum and maximum values, toggle whether the switches should send momentary messages when pressed or toggle on and off - all designed to be as flexible yet as simple as possible so that your MIDI controller is no longer the barrier to your workflow.
You can save Custom mappings as a Profile which can be loaded and swapped out depending on your current rig. For example, if you have a Blackstar Silverline Deluxe amplifier you could use Custom mode to create a profile for your own personal footswitch set. Switches 1-3 could change your patches, for instance, a clean crunch and lead, and switches 4-6 could stomp on and off your in-built modulation and delay effects, or even switch other external MIDI pedals that you may have on your pedalboard. You can also set up an expression pedal to control Volume, giving yourself a volume pedal for swells, or other creative effects like controlling the level of a delay.

I got absolutely nothing to work on this before i did a firmware update. After that its pretty easy to use and seems to be of a simple and great quality. Few things to go wrong on this one.

Question: Can I assign the Cubase Record buttons (the ones you click on when you want to record a specific track) on the switches? For example assign the record button of the 10th track to the 1st switch so when I press it, it will enable the record button of the 10th track. I was thinking to assign some record buttons in every footswitch in order to play extra voices (midi tracks) when performing

NIce. It looks like an interesting bit of kit. Any chance of a Linux ready version of your app in some distant future? I realise that we're a small part of the customer base and this will still be usable without the app, but that's still a few thousand people who might decide not to bother because you've ignored them. I *will* probably bother because all the Blackstar gear I have is fantastic and I am sure this will be too, but you know, give us Linux peeps a bone. Anyway, good luck with this. Good to see you're still innovating!

I use the Live Logic to control my Boss GT-1000 core by setting it to custom and sending cc messages via momentary mode. Is there a way to get the lights to stay lit on the last used switch so I can always check what preset is on?

Does this work with logic X in a similar fashion to how it works with ableton? I saw a KZbinr using it to record and as a looper. That would be useful for me if it can do this in logic.

When CLOCK is assigned to any foot switch does it then act like TAP TEMPO ?

I use Cubase. Can I assign every one of the 6 switches with a Record button of a midi track? For example the Foot Switch no1 will enable/disable the Record button of the first midi track, Foot Switch 2 will enable/disable the Record button of the second midi track etc?

I have a question. In all videos I founded on YT the unit is always used with the usb cable connected. Therefore, now I have a doubt: can I use it without a PC? If yes, can I use a custom setup without a PC?

This seems to only send out just one message to one device at a time or am I wrong ? If I have a timeline, mobius and big sky will it send individual PC messages over different channels at the same time or do I need a more powerful controller ?

I have recently purchased the Live Logic Midi Controller. I can midi map and record a clip, but when I hold down the switch, or double tap it, or single tap it again, the recorded clip restarts. I am unable to stop the clip or delete it or record a new clip. The Blackstar owners manual does not explain this functionality at all, unfortunately. I have updated the firmware but still no improvement. Any suggestions as to what I can do to fix this issue?

I recently bought the above product to use with Ableton and I absolutely love it. I am using it to control track 1 to 6. I would like to buy another one of these foot controllers if it is able to be set to control tracks 7 to 12, but I don't want to buy another if it would just map onto track 1 to 6 as well in ableton. Do you have any idea if that would be the case? I need to know before I buy a second. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi . I just bought the Live logic midi foot controller . I'm facing an issue . Whenever I am midi mapping any of the buttons on live logic foot controller to any parameter on the Ableton Live , as soon as I let go of the button on the foot controller , the parameter on Ableton Live turns off. It only stays on till the time I am pressing on the button of the foot controller , even though all the settings on the software are exactly the same as mentioned in almost every tutorial online . Please help

The script will automatically download with the latest version of Ableton Live. Your Live Logic also needs to be updated to the latest Firmware - you can find the latest update on the Live Logic website page. Please update your version of Ableton Live and connect your Live Logic in custom mode your computer - Ableton Live should automatically connect.

I strongly caution those looking to use Live Logic with Ableton. I am not able to Toggle effects in Ableton (only Momentary) and neither Blackstar nor the the music store I was dealing with (highly experienced Midi users) were able to troubleshoot. My expression pedal (TRS) does not work with Live Logic/Ableton even though Blackstar confirmed my pedal is compliant. The customer service is woeful; promising a response within 24-hours, yet the weeks go by. Very very disappointed with this product as the promotional videos/material show great promise.😠
