Exactly! When I started fasting both intermittently and prolonged, I didn’t change my diet necessarily. But after seeing results plateau, I made a smart and honestly easy transition into a healthier eating strategy. When you decide to make a honest decision to change your life, things like eating habits and what you typically eat, will change.

Same here. I fast and eat one or two meals in the evening. Not eating breakfast or lunch has always been easy for me and having all of my calories in the evening satisfies that desire to consume a large meal.

@@keyaanmaxwell5700 I was about 203 lbs, lost 40 lbs in about 5 and a half months using IF... all I did was good diet, train 4x a week (including 3 sessions of cardio, for fat loss reasons), and then I slept well... I did cut out almost all carbs for about 2 months which saw my weight dropped like crazy. I have kept up intermittent fasting for about a year and a half now, just to keep my weight in check. Ive been doing the 16-8 fast for years and never even thought about it. I just didn't feel I needed any food upon waking up and ate my first meal at 12 midday. Just plenty of water. I even do my workout in the morning a few hours before eating. Eating all day every few hours is ridiculous and having this window of time to eat is so much easier and frees you up from obsessing over food. The food industry wants you to eat their cereals and the supplement industry wants you to consume their products all around the clock to make money off you. Its all a total load of BS with so many suckers buying into it!

I’m 270 and starting my journey, how many calories should I eat on my 22-24 period in order to gain muscle and lose fat
@bbbt80903 жыл бұрын
@@juniorponce6666 Honestly I don't count my calories. I make sure to eat enough till I'm full since I only eat 1 meal a day with hardly any snacking, 6 days a week. I'm 5'7 and was 203lbs, dropped down to 180lbs within 3-4 months. The key element is keeping your carb intake low, consume veggies with high protein. So example i grew up eating rice so now I only eat a scoop of rice instead of my usual 5-6 scoops. I was still able to gain muscle during this phase by eating lots of protein which helped with muscle growth and kept me full until my next meal. I dont take any protein shakes. You really have to find what works for you. I'd recommend looking up Dr. Fung, he's the Pioneer of fasting. My last advice is try cutting out all the soft drinks and junk food. You can still cheat once maybe twice a week but that depends on how much progess you want to lose or gain. I also drink 3 cans of flavored sparkling water every day which helps keep me full until my meal (zero calories, zero everything).

I listened to their explanation as to what they think the benefits are. I just dont agree or see it. After 3 hours i really need to eat a small amount. Im eating probably 1700 calories or less a day. I dont see the point of intermittent fasting, whatsoever. Im loosing fat, gaining muscles. Isnt that the goal?

Yes they failed to mention individuality in this video. Everyone will respond differently and if what you are doing is working well for you and you are feeling great, then stick to that. Not everyone will feel good with fasting, but for many it is a great practice.

Nutrition is at the same time more complicated and more simple than what we've been "taught" in our lives. I put that word under quotation marks because we haven't really been taught anything and a lot of things are simply inherent knowledge at best or hearsay and old wives tales at worst. For example did you know that it doesn't actually matter how many times a day we eat as long as we take enough nutrients and energy? In fact if you have a tendency to have teeth issues (cavities) then it's better to eat fewer times a day, while on the other hand if you have acid reflux issues then it's better to eat smaller meals more times a day. The whole fasting and starvation subjects is very interesting from a biochemical standpoint and I'd urge you to do some research yourself, all what I said can be found on PubMed and other medical research websites.

María Celeste There is a hormone called ghrelin, it is considered to be the hunger hormone. Ghrelin is also highly adaptable so if you for example started eating your breakfast at noon every day instead of at 9am, it will take ghrelin about one to two weeks to adjust to your new schedule and you won't be feeling hunger before noon after that adjustment period. EDIT: Important note, women are not advised to follow the 16h/8h fasting/eating schedule, but 14h/10h instead, because some slight hormonal changes have been noted in women doing the 16/8 program and while it is not certain that fasting was the culprit it is best to be on the side of caution. However this info is from when Iast researched the topic about 2 years ago so maybe some new conclusions have been reached in the meantime, feel free to do your own research.

Good video guys, and I was super glad to hear you talk about the fact that it's not ideal for maximal muscle growth. There's clearly some health benefits that come from fasting and I agree I can definitely help with appetite and satiety as well when you do eat. Definitely though if your main goal is to build muscle you do you want to be making sure to have protein at least 2 to 4 times a day. I'm probably the same as Adam where I incorporate a fast occasionally, maybe wants to max twice a week. All the best you guys and thanks for the content!

When I began working out, however, everything told me to add more calories for weight gain and to get a significantly higher amount of protein. So let's take your lean 16 hour plan for example. How in the world do you get the protein requirement of someone working to build muscle all in 8 hours???? I'm a small person and my protein needs are only 74 grams a days.I cant comprehend eating enough food to get 74 grams of protein in 8 hours!! Please advise?

After losing 35 lbs my weight leveled off and now I just continue to get leaner. Think I could bulk if I added one more meal and cut the amount of time I fast down to 14 hours?

The biggest problem with these bodybuilders/fitness people that try to teach you how to build muscle or lose fat is that majority of them are on gear (steroids) and a lot of people do not know that 1/3 of American active males are on gear, so when that 2/3 of people that have no clue, look at that Men's Health front page at your grocery store and think what am I doing wrong, why do I not look like that they turn to these videos. With that said, looking at these two "gurus" that are on point about dieting and keeping low body fat are for some reason not shredded because of their gear and water retention. These videos give good info and what these guys are telling you is correct but their chemical build is completely different from your average joe. A person on steroids can fast for weeks, as long as they take multivitamins their muscle will not break down because of all the testosterone and HGH, this is how bodybuilders get shredded before the competition. People need to come clean on steroids, the bodybuilding industry needs to come clean, all the supplements, protein shakes and all of that other bs crap they sell is for those people that have no idea that steroids exist.

I was having a pizza with my friend when he said he was on a diet and pizza is his regular cheat meal and part of diet plan he got from Agoge Diet. I thought he was crazy, but after a month I noticed his body has changed a lot. He looked better than ever. I should really visit that website

My work buddy laughed when I told them I was planning to reduce weight with just using Okibetonic Secrets, but after I showed these people incredible results after I used it they're begging me to share with them about it. Of course I won't tell them the detail about this diet plan, haha
