Want to improve your conversational English? Use this easy word to sound like a native speaker! When we speak casually in English, we replace many verbs with the verb “get”. If you ever use English in social situations, doing this will make your spoken English sound so much more natural! The best part about making this change, is that you probably already know how to use the verb “get”. In this lesson, I’ll teach you some of the most common verbs you can replace with “get”. Then take the quiz at www.engvid.com...
Watch next:
How to speak naturally in English: reduction mistakes • How to speak naturally...
Conversation Skills: DON'T BE SHY! • Conversation Skills: D...

Ronnie, first of all, I love you! I'm an English teacher and I follow you just to get inspired and have fun. I can come home, crawl into my bed and cuddle with my cats while having a sandwich and watching English with Ronnie, very naturally. So thank you; for all that casual fun AND inspiration! Now to my comment as a fellow teacher :-) When we use "do" or "did" as a helping verb (when verb 1 is an auxiliary verb...yuck...hate the word!), the second verb (Verb 2) will always be infinitive. It's important to make the distinction between when "get" has the infinitive form to when it's conjugated in the present tense. Why is it important? Because some verbs are not called the same in their infinitive form as when conjugated in the present tense, like the verb "be" for example. It's important to know that a "Verb 2" never is conjugated in order to avoid typical mistakes like "I didn't knew that." Aaaaand...love ya Ronnie!
