You are the first person I have heard that has done a COMPREHENSIVE lecture on gallbladder issues and bile acids / pH effect on bowel movements. It's UNBELIEVABLE that as many people that have had their gallbladder removed and have GI issues that no one has covered the subject to the proper depth like you have. I've been looking for information since 2019 and haven't seen a single person cover this issue until now 2023. Thank you. By the way I like your analogy of the gas pedal / brake pedal.

Great info .... but ....the benefit of TUDCA is not immediate in the digestion cycle that you're taking it. As you know, most bile gets recycled and THAT'S where TUDCA comes in handy! Your body recycles it and then it helps thin the rest of your bile in the next cycle (and beyond) to keep your bile flowing correctly. I've had 5 medium to large gallstones since 2019 and I take 4x 250mg TUDCA per day (210 lbs 6' male). When I take them, my digestion and bowel movements are good. If I stop, I get bile acid diarrhea/malabsorption and a dull ache in my gallbladder. Within a day or two of resuming TUDCA, my bowel movements return to normal and the dull aches in my gallbladder go away. More TUDCA isn't necessarily better due to the apoptosis he mentioned. If you can get by with 2 or 3, even better. I've tried ox bile several times and while it works sometimes, I've wound up with extreme diarrhea too many times and had to stop trying it.

I was hospitalized and diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis 2 years ago, 6 months after diagnose I had severe gallbladder attack and it was removed. I never knew I should take ox bile. Months later I started to develop severe joint pain, rheumatoid arthritis, symptom of UC, also a symptom of not having bile! I found out through the internet! I ordered some bile salts and the severe joint pain/arthritis stopped when I started taking bile salts. I couldn't believe that not having bile was causing me such severe joint pain. I've never known how to take them or if I should take with low fat meals or just high fat meals. The bottle and internet says take with food. I'm going to start taking them an hour later and watch your video program, the 6 steps... Should I be taking bile salt with snacks? I've noticed sometimes with small meals or too little fat I will get acid stomach with it but now I know not to take it with meal so maybe I need it with small meals too? Idk. I often thought it was too late to take if I missed it with a meal. Sometimes it's hard to know if it's my UC or bile problems. I always thought UC sysmptoms but now I think I'm having digestive troubles. I've never even heard of Tudca until now. I wish my Drs would have told me something. Saved me a lot of pain and money and medication I didn't need. Anyone else with UC and gallbladder issues? This is all still kinda new to me and I don't know anyone that has UC. I had never even heard of it. Surprise! Thank you for the info. I'll check out your other videos and see if I can get some help and figure this out. All the money I pay for Drs and insurance and I've had to diagnose myself on everything that's wrong with me. Our healthcare is so sad. Thanks for helping me figure things out.

I had frequent bouts of gallstones. Eating rich foods after the theater and then an hours drive home. My internist said gall bladder removal, just like he had had. The pain and yucky feeling…I made an appointment at the surgeons office. Few minutes of pleasantries, he said…what are you doing here? Uhhhh,aren’t you a surgeon? Yes, you have gallstones, one of them is big. If you come in here when you’re 95, I’ll say grrrrrreat! 14:32 14:32 14:32 I didn’t need a gall bladder removal, and he's going to heaven, straight away. I’ll be forever in his debt. Thinking of it, I knew what was .causing it…excess eating rich food, late at night. Avoid. A few weeks later, same late meal ….oh this'll be bad, hope I get home. And then I felt like, a pop. Not bathroom emergency, it was right to left…and I felt better. I later realized, I had taken parsley oil. Picked it up mistakenly, rather than return it, I took a few. That was late afternoon. After theater dinner was nine or so. Parsley oil is very thin oil. It did the trick, and it was purely accidental. Moral of story is…..sometimes if you give your little boat some time, it will right itself. All clear, return as normal, keep your organ.

Was about to start tudca, per Dr. Berg's videos on bile reflux / gastritis (no gallbladder). An earlier video of his warned about low acid stomachs shouldn't use bile salts without adding an acidifier, but advised against that if one has an ulcer or gastritis. Confused. After this video, I am confused even more. You mentioned to someone previously, in the comment section below, that you advise against using tudca for bile reflux, and that you are making a video about that. Has it come out yet? Thank you. I have my gallbladder and a nutritionist put me on ox bile and bitters to increase bile production/flow. But she forgot to tell me to take the ox bile away from food. Her notes…plus the ox bile bottle states take with food…so I did. I was feeling great at first and after a couple of weeks I experienced major diarrhea and became so dehydrated I experienced nausea and vertigo. At that point I stopped taking all supplements and my body almost went back to normal. But now I am experiencing symptoms I have never had before; constant burping and now it’s progressed to heartburn. I experience burping when drinking first thing in the morning, after meals, after drinking water throughout the day. Most of the burps are quiet, but sometimes they are explosive, like I just drank a carbonated drink. It is unfortunate I discovered your videos after the fact, but from watching your videos I believe taking the ox bile with my food has caused me to have low stomach acid (ran test just before taking ox bile and my stomach acid was working great) I mentioned to her that I believe I needed to take HCL, but she wanted me to try apple cider vinegar first which seemed like it was helping at first, but it didn’t . I have taken activated charcoal and have drunk ozonated water in attempt to deal with a possible accumulation of bad bugs. Also taken bitters, teas that aid in digestion, sea salt on the tongue…It has been months since the original upset and I feel like I have tried so many things and my symptoms are getting progressively worse. I ordered the enzymes, betaine HCL and beetflow as recommended in the book. Can you please advise on the timing to take the beet flow and the enzymes. Do you take them 20 minutes before the meal or just before the first bite of food? The timing of the HCL is clear because you state in the middle of the meal. I am really fearful of making any timing mistakes, due to now having a new health issue because I was not properly advised on the correct timing of taking the ox bile.

How much ox bile would you recommend for a person without a gallbladder?
@Jen-tv9bt
@Jen-tv9bt Жыл бұрын
I take an ox bile after every meal. If I have a light snack especially if it's low fat then I skip the ox bile because it will create acid in my stomach, or if I take it too far out from my meal it can create acid. That's something you will have to play with and find what works for you. I take it at the end of my meal. I usually try to wait 10 - 20 min. Give my stomach at least a small chance to digest normally. It can be inconvenient when I'm busy and having to think about it after the fact and I often set alarms to remind me but this is my life now. I wish I would have known and I would have never gotten my gallbladder removed but it's what I have to do to survive. I recommend it for sure if you don't have a gallbladder. Play around and you'll figure out what you can handle. My bottle says to alternate the dosage. Like, take 1 sometimes and other times take 2 bile salts, maybe even 3. I only always take 1. I tried alternating and took 2 once. Never again. It was too much for me and the acid in my stomach was painful. 1 every time is all I need. And I don't take them too close together either. If I eat something like a snack soon after I take one then I don't bother taking one after my snack because I believe it's still in my digestion track somewhere. For me it depends on the quantity of food, the fat amount (low fat meal or high fat meal) and how acidic the meal. It will take trial and error. And when you do get an acidic stomach from the ox bile I suggest eating a few crackers or bread, plain potatoes or plain rice, something that will absorb the acid.

Thankyou so much for this. I had my gallbladder removed when I was 40 and found I could no longer eat fatty foods. As I got into my 70s I found I was having lots of stomach issues. After listening to Dr. Gundry I started taking ox bile, and then cider vinegar to acidfy my stomach, then kefir for good bacteria. Now since I'm having histamine problems I'm having to stop the cider vinegar and kefir. I found the betaine hcl though and I have bacteria capsules. Still I was bloating badly and I can see I was doing it all wrong , thanks to your striking simile . I'll amend the timetable now . K

The body recycles 95% of bile back through the liver, so I don't get the potential toxic buildup. Also, highly respected hospitals and researchers (the research is readily available) state that after gallbladder removal, bile is excreted into the small intestines to break down fats, which is why we're told it's ok to remove the gallbladder. It may take a few weeks or months for the body to adjust to eating fats as the concentration level of bile is a bit less in the small intestines, but reducing fat intake, eating smaller meals, and eating healthy fats should help most people who have no other contributing health conditions. Watched many videos from this channel, read the book, and researched this subject separately. I think eating healthier is the best method over taking more supplements.

Quick Q: Isn't it the case that TUDCA improves the function of the liver. Thereby improving the flow of bile to the galbladder and thus enhancing your 'natural' digestive system. In contrast to ox bile which is, as you explained, interfering with the natural flow since it directly reacts with your food when taking it. TUDCA is actually advised to take on an empty stomach.

It is probably worth mentioning but before meal I drank a glass of water with a spoon of apple vinegar. Maybe there was a reaction… Anyone had this experience?

I can believe it. I took my ox bile and washed it down with a diet coke once. It basically exploded in my throat! I almost choked for real. The carbonation caused it to explode and it puffed up in the back of my throat and I could breath and started choking. It was scary so yes I can imagine that it mixed with the acv and created a reaction in your stomach. When I take ox bile with too little food and or something acidic I get an acidic stomach.

I don’t have a gallbladder. Was sick all the time. Really sick to the point if I ate or didn’t eat I was nauseous and in pain in my upper right side. I would think sometimes it was a heart attack. I tried ox bile made me worse. I tried digestive enzymes didn’t work. I tried fasting didn’t work. Doc put me on antacids didn’t work. The only thing that worked was the Tudca. I take it on an empty stomach. Literally the relief came the first 20 min after taking it. It was a miracle for me. The pain was debilitating. Tudca made it go away. I took it 3 x a day, before I ate. Now I take it 2 x a day and I have no more issues. I lost some weight and my bloating in my upper stomach went away. I’ve been on it for almost a year now and I won’t be without it. Not too sure about the cell death theory. As we age it’s harder and longer for our cells to regenerate like they did when we are young. So I’m good with them taking longer to die. Lol. It works regardless and has helped me in so many other ways too. Energy up too. I was pre-diabetic and that went away too. I highly recommend if you don’t have a gallbladder!

Hi, is there difference on bile flow between TUDCA and UDCA(without tauro-)? For now I could only buy UDCA from my drug store in my country. I can order TUDCA from iherb, but it will take time for delivery... Started carnivore diet (only meat, eggs, butter/tallow and diary products) 4 days ago, feel energetic but have problems with bowel movement/constipation. Read that some people can constipate, some on contrary can have diarrhea. 2 days ago started to take ox bile (after meal) and UDCA before sleep (to get bowel movement), got some bloating and headache in the mornings, no other bad symptoms. I eat only once a day, as I don't feel hunger at all which is terrific. No sugar cravings. Overweight by 20kg, have SIBO last 20 years+ (from infancy/childhood after huge dosage of antibiotics) and have sugar cravings. Diagnose myself with SIBO (as it is not diagnosed by official medicine in my country) 6 years ago. Fought with SIBO by fasting (dry or water only), low carb diet/keto, intake of natural medicine like oregano, bone broth, coconut oil etc. But periodically fall back (to starting point) after some stress in life (have still unresolved family issues, psychological problems related to sexual assault in teenager years) because of overeating carbs and sweets. Finally revealed carnivore diet thanks to youtube recommendation of Dr.Chaffee, Dr. Paul Saladino etc, Ms.Kelly K Norton on oxalates, as I have joints problem too(crunchy joints, may be due to oxalates) from childhood. With carnivore feel good, energetic, no bloating (before ox bile/udca). But after taking Ox bile and UDCA got bloating and headache in mornings. I guess it needs time for ox bile/udca to work, as 2 day intake is not enough? Thank you!

Hi @Lazzat Bastar I wouldn't view it like "carnivore needs longer to work". There are reasons when people don't do well with carnivore. It usually has to do with digestive malfunctions and it sounds like that is likely the case for you. It sounds like you're also making common ox bile mistakes like we talk about in this video. I've never heard of UDCA and didn't know there was another version. your best bet would be to go through our totally free digestion course because that will walk you through figuring out which aspects of digestion are not working correctly and what steps will help you the most. Thank you for response! I made a mistake with ox bile intake. I should have taken it on an empty stomach, I took it after meal. After I wrote my comment here, next day on fifth day of my carnivore I had bowel movement, so it is Ok now. Although I had to drink coffee with milk (one cup in the mornings) on fifth day morning. One cup of coffee with milk saved me from constipation last 13 years(when I was sick with sibo, was not diagnosed and was on high carb diet as many people) I thought I don't need to drink coffee anymore. But guess need to drink it unless heal my gut (leaky gut, overweight by 20kg now from 57 to 77kg with 160 cm height etc, crunchy joints from childhood). I feel good on carnivore, energetic, lightness in the body overall(want to jump, run/jog although has +20kg and fluid/edema in my body), clearer mind instead of severe brainfog, less crunchy joints etc. Couple of months ago I fasted water only and eat mostly meat after breaking fast (in small amount, plus lemon juice and bone broth) for 3-4 days, and I felt that bloating is not coming back as it is usually the case. After 3-4 days I introduced carbs like apple, bread(non gluten from oatmeal) carrot etc, and get bloating back. So it seems that fiber doesn't work for me. I was on keto diet too, it did not help much although felt great than if I eat high carb diet. In general, I don't have problems with stomach or its acidity(checked it). I drink (1-2 tablespoon diluted in water) home made ACV now (with carnivore diet) to increase acidity just in case I need it. But never had any burping, reflux etc.but have problems with intestines, leaky gut, bloating etc. Whenever I am constipated for more than 2-3 days, I have headaches (my lower blood pressure increases from 70 to 90, higher blood pressure is same around 110-120). I figured it out as intoxication of my brain, I guess due to leaky gut toxins from stuck waste product in my colon go through my brain and blood barrier. Because when I drink laxative like very very strong green tea(up to 1.5-2 liters) or milk serum with lactose in it or coffee with milk, I have bowel movement, and within 30 minutes after that my headache is gone. I have studied my body (reaction) for last 7 years and experimented a lot with detoxing and various diets. But carnivore seems to work best in my case. I fasted many times, including water only fasting up to 35 days, dry fasting up to 10 days 3-4 times, partial fasting (when drink/eat only liquid stuff, no fiber, hard food) for 65 days. All of them were great, but when you have unresolved family and psychological problems from teenager years, everything goes back to starting point. As I overeat carbs, sugar after get stressed severely, get back +20kg within a month after fasting/detoxing body. So finally visiting psychologist to get the help I needed back long ago in my teenager years when was sexually assaulted by close (to family) person. Thank you for taking time to read my comment and answer it. highly appreciated. Want to test carnivore up to 3-6 months and see the results first. Now it is first time in 7 years (since I was diagnosed with sibo and treat myself, experiment etc) I want to do sport, I want to jog/run, jump...Going out to do some sport now. I hope it increases my intestine motility as my work is about sitting all day long :))

HI Lazzat. It sounds like you are finding some things that work sort of like band aids for you, but are not really fixing the actual problems. Instead of "testing a diet" for 6 months, you can look at your body chemistry and figure out the exact correct diet for you like I talk about doing in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pZ2ugXd-jMllfa8 But your best bet would be to go through our totally free digestion course because that will walk you through figuring out which aspects of digestion are not working correctly and what steps will help you the most. I had the same and eventually lost it. How are you doing now? Try not to be far from a hospital. I use to be ok, pain would come and go but one day after I ate a lot, it came on strong. I think even a small stone can get stuck and block the tube. I am no expert but it can become an emergency situation. I hope not for you. Maybe you are luckier than me. I've been wondering this too! Dr. Berg's videos say how helpful bile salts are for bile reflux, gastritis, etc. But then he had another video warning people with low stomach acid not to use bile salts without also using an acidifier like Betaine HCl or ACV. Then in another video he says don't use an acidifier if you have gastritis or an ulcer. I am thinking the same thing: why not put bile salts in enteric capsules that dissolve in intestine instead of stomach?

Hello T.C. Could you please clarify about timing of TUDCA? You say "some people say it is OK to take it with food..." so is it OK or better to take prior to food? Also, if TUDCA is taken like an hour before food, would gallbladder store it and release with food? Thank you 🙂
@KickItNaturally

What a great username @Insomniac Next Door :) and if you haven't fixed that yet, I definitely want you to watch this video on insomnia: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aXKQZ4R4jLKKjNk As far as timing, I feel like the timing of TUDCA is not as important as it is with ox bile. But I still see some folks saying they feel better when they take TUDCA with meals and some feel better taking it away from meals. I just see better results with ox bile, and that one you want to take like 90-120 minutes after a meal in most cases. and no, the body is not going to store ox bile or tudca in the gallbladder. It misses that pathway altogether since you're taking it through the stomach, which is not how the body works. That's why I only use these things with clients that have lost their gallbladder. Anyone else that still has their gallbladder I like to see them take these 5 steps to thin the bile so it will flow naturally: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o3PHh2mQiZ6qpbM Let us know how it goes.

@@KickItNaturally thank you, I appreciate the explanation and advice. I had already watched your bile flow and "sizzle" video, good stuff :-))) Watched your insomnia video upon your advice and yes, it is very very complex. I'm dealing with mercury toxicity and had liver and bile issues for years. Just tried some TUDCA and found it helpful but I'm too sensitive to most supplements. Have to keep a very fine balance, address metabolism and slowly progress with chelation.

Yeah, a big deal with heavy metal toxicity is that the body won't let go of those heavy metals unless there are enough minerals in the system. So if you're blood pressure is low or you're showing other signs of low minerals (like insomnia) this video could help too: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ql6ZaIN3idR1idk Just know that once you get that toxicity down, you probably won't be as sensitive to everything. I have a video coming out on that type of stuff soon enough too.

@@KickItNaturally yes, deranged mineral transport is what heavy metal toxicity is all about. Unfortunately, I find it not as easy as simply supplementing with bio available minerals. With chronic toxicity many system are not functioning properly in rectifying all that and chelating at the same time make same feel like a DJ who is always messing with the knobs. :-))) Heck, if you ever feel like making a case out of me or you need a good guinea pig I'm here for you. Yeah, it definitely takes more than just adding minerals in. But the mistake most people make is that they try to get the metals out while the minerals are still too low. I talk about it a lot in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/sIucoGitlsh3l5Y
