Wow! That is incredibly helpful and useful. It is a shame that NCS Expert is in German. I must learn more about this generally as I have two R53's and now two R56's. Its a long story. I have the cable - but I think I will try now and find both softwares and load them onto a spare laptop.

Thanks for the feedback. 👍 NCS Expert is useful and you can get an understanding from most areas using NCS Dummy & Google Translate. I might cover off the installation process as there are a few quirks with setup and versions of windows to use that help the process. Once you’ve got one Mini they can get a bit addictive 😂

@@ThorMotorWerks I have a full copy of ISTA+ on one of my slightly failing laptops. I don't really get on with it - as for some reason it doesn't seem to particularly like the Mini and crashes every now and then (due to the laptop being pretty old). It takes absolutely ages to get a connection and I am constantly inputting the 17 digit code in just the hope that it will connect. It doesn't seem to want to recognise the car, in any way automatically. Have you used ISTA+ and are they comparable or completely different, in your mind?

@@edwardgurhy100 I've used ISTA a couple of times - But most of the cars I work on I use INPA or an Auto Maxitool - NCS Expert is the go to for coding in extras / turning features on / off. And occasionally use WInOLs / MPPS for some engine maps. I will do more software videos - But while the weather is OK making the most of it :)

@@snakenev Kill All Chrome do ‘Halo Style’ sidelights - they were from there. They’ve been on the car 3 years now / had no issues 👍

hello thank you very much for your video, I installed the xenons on the R53S thanks to you :) I just have a small problem, before I had the automatic leveling on the halogen headlights but it does not work on the xenons... Could you help me?

@@francoiscalve3727 you wouldn’t have had autolevelling as that’s only on Xenon’s, if you have the headlight adjust that should still be working afterwards. It might be worth checking your xenon’s just to make sure they are firm inside, as there is a small ball and socket the upper section sits on - sometimes (Especially if they’ve been posted to you) that can get knocking in transit and as a result it won’t level properly until it’s reseated

@@ThorMotorWerks thanks for your quick reply I may have expressed myself badly, sorry On my old OEM halogen headlights there was a level adjustment when turning on the ignition (you could hear the electric motor) I understood that I don't have the "automatic" adjustment because I don't have the front and rear level sensors but on my new xenon headlights I don't hear the sound of the electric motor when I turn on the ignition, is there perhaps an option to choose on NCS Expert?
