Sometimes the algae is too fine to be filtered out by the pool filter and needs to be vacuumed out.

Hello, I need to vacuum brown stuff on bottom of pool, I have a Intex sand pump, on what setting I put my sand pump? circulate, filter? please let me know I have the pole and hose that came with pool along with the brush I do connect to hose.

If there is no waste setting you can try filter

I can’t get my large filter cover off and my husband won’t do it so I guess we can’t use our pool. I keep the skimmer basket clean, meticulously do the chemicals until everything is where it should be and I also clean the small filter with the clear top that’s very hard to get off (lots of grunting and some tears), and I clean debris out of the pool daily. I don’t have enough arm strength and length to get the off the main filter filter and it’s too clogged to get the vacuum cleaner going. Any suggestions on how a female can get the cover off of the pool filter by herself. It’s very frustrating that the pool is so close but I’m not able to clean the filter. 😢

Hi Tony, I have green dust on the floor of my pool should I try to vacuum to waste or to filter. I just don’t think vac head will pick up I have lil wheels and they say not to use brush type with gunite pools so any suggestions greatly appreciated.

If you vacuum to waste it will by-pass the filter and should suck the crud out of the bottom of the pool.

@@daniellemccarty9207 shock the water at night ,vacuum next morning on filter- Then backwash about 5 minutes ...turn off pump for 5 minutes ,then rinse for 1 minute. Set to filter and top up water in pool.

We just bought a house this year with a 18,000 gallon in ground pool that hadn’t been open for 4 years. The deep end has a big algae stain on the vinyl that I’ve tried cleaning all summer with no luck. Do you have any suggestions ?

I would not want to swim in your pool if your trying to vacuum algae out of it you need to take of it by killing the algae.

You may need to vacuum it on the waste setting so that it bypasses the filter. Hope this helps you out.
