Great to see a series for us older guys. I'm 75 and still enjoy dressing well. Nowadays I'm usually in jeans and sneakers. In the cold rainy PNW winters I usually wear boots with my jeans. For a nicer look I have chinos and black slip on soft stags.

I lived in Sneakers all the time from 16 - 29. Gave them up mostly preferring Boots and later on Brogue shoes. But I gotta say John, I'm loving those black sneakers. They are defo something I'd go for now in my mid 40's.

Times have change for the better if you ask me which is a good thing because back in my day bigger and baggy clothing was the thing and finding smaller sizes was hard to find but now days it a little easier to find smaller sizes for men that fits right

Nike Blazer Miss are great. Also you can design them how you want if you do Nike ID. A good fitted pair of jeans blue or black work well. You could even wear them with fitted chinos or even cords, in whatever colour your shoe is. Like wearing a leather jacket, be confident in what you wear and make it your own. Keep to classic trainers.

All sneakers do not look and wear the same. Adidas makes some nice classic sneakers but if you put in Nike’s.. many of them look ugly puffy and just goofy on an adult.

Hi John. Another good collab with the guys from GL. I liked the outfits and the sneakers you all wore. The white Adidas sneakers George wore would definitely pose a challenge to keep clean though. Thats why a couple of years ago I bought a pair of the Adidas Tubular Shadow sneakers in black (they don't show dirt) mainly for the gym but do wear casually from time to time . Speaking of sneakers have you considered doing a 1st year review video of the Paul Evans hightops you got last year? Peace . :)

The big problem with sneakers as you're (like I am) in your 40s is that they only look good as the white sole is white immaculate. As it gets dirty they ruin your outfit. I live in London: rainy, streets packed of people, messy public transports, you can figure out how long shoes stay clean white.

The less sharp conspicuous contrast colour they have, the better they look, to me. The less bright white, the less attention is drawn to your feet, gents. Do you really want people to notice your feet most of all? If you are a ballet dancer, perhaps. They have great skill and beauty, power etc in the feet, so why not flaunt them, if you have this. But most guys don't and it's no drama. You might've very intelligent or have a great voice, so draw attention further up. Or you might have a great physique to show off. So focus on drawing attention to your chest, slim waistline, abs, strong thighs etc. I think the most useful sneakers would be the all black ones with just the white soles edge visible. They are classics and go with a variety of pants, except all white ones. If you go for all white pants, you really do need the all white sneakers to look right. Few guys can really get away with the white pants look. For starters, you'd need a slim body because white really does make one look fat. Then you'd need the right male personality. I once sang in an all males band and the male leader decreed that no man in his band would be allowed to wear white trousers or shorts or Kaftans to performances. I asked if I could. He said "Yes, but make it nice and feminine, flowing, like...Ethereal..." I thought this was bizarre and asked how come the gents were not allowed white pants. He replied "In my band, I command a band of real men to play as I expect them to and I have one feminine figure, to add variety, interest, contrast to my men. This cannot work if they all wear white pants to look feminine and compete with you, the feminine focus of my band. So you learn to wear light,bright white with style and confidence, instead of hiding behind all my men. And they need to focus on playing right, not trying to look like.... Well you know what I mean? That is NOT the sort of show I a want to run. It was an interesting insight...Later, I did see Anand of Latin, very good looking male musicians, all in white pants, very sexy, I must say. Their senior male leader wore all black and conducted the band like a tyrannical dad, waving his arms ferociously etc at all his "pretty boys", as he called them, "my sons, the future of the human race". It was a very strange but clever show. I soon realised just how comical it really was, in intentionally, though it was made to appear very serious and formal, in these white well tailored pants on these guys, with shiny satin shirts. I laughed my head off at the humour.. it was the white pants. They simply would never be seen in white trousers like that anywhere but on a stage performing certain types of comical music. But, I think, properly worn, a white summer suit or white pants with right other items is probably OK. Especially in summer for more formal evening socialising or in tropical areas. It would look ridiculous in cold wintry climates, though. And dark footwear with white or light pants or skirts is always a no no, for all genders. And, obviously, no visible coloured or dark hosiery, Sox etc with light or white pants/skirts, even if the shoe colour is correct.
