Yes, waited 3yrs. for the Lord to send me the right godly woman He wanted me to be with. I had to be patient and it was hard but in the end it was worth it. 4 months we have been together and going well with the Lord at the center of our relationship!! I'm 64 and widowed. true, big fan of the minimum requirements and then trying to enjoy people for who they are rather than who they are not. It's a relief when we are not so controlling and just more accepting. Coming out of my widowhood and ready to receive whomever God has planned for me I want to make sure I'm doing things right, according to God's will. I haven't dated in so many years and your guidance has been so helpful. Wish I could find a Godly coach who has advice geared more toward widows and women my age (60) just because my situation is so different from the bulk of your audience.

I'm also widowed and really like the biblical relationship advice that Mark teaches. Yes, there are certain elements to being widowed, that are unique. I'm in widow groups on Facebook, but they are not all Christians. I don't mind because we are really supportive of one another. But I wouldn't go there for biblical advice. Many of them are Christians and wise. It's my support group. Haven't found a channel that has biblical teachings on how to date as a widow specifically, but I like you, find this channel very helpful. I'm 41. God bless you

Relationships that don't get tested tend to be shallow. When you do get tested, you find out how strong your relationship is and how much each of you will resolve your differences. When you are willing to see the other side of an argument, that demonstrates actual love.

I always say don’t go by good looks alone. One thing I learned is you gotta pay attention to are they on fire for God as much as you are? Will they pray with you? Will they take time too get too know your personality flaws, shortcomings? If you spend a good 3 months talking on the phone visiting each other trust me, you will learn a whole lot about that person because they bring honesty to the table. Another thing I learned are you ready for that person too say yes? There’s a whole lot that’s tied too a relationship than most people know about. God first than chemistry commitment, sharing things having the same similar hobbies. Is the key to a Godly marriage.

Points 1, 2, and 6 are what I can relate to as far as pursuing someone as I desire to date this friend of mine who I believe could potentially be the one although I'm not assuming she is the one. I'll explain as I go through each of the points that I relate to. For Point number one, I really like this person because one, she is a believer, two, she has the personality of an angel, 3, she accepts me for who I am, and for, we have similar goals and mutual interests. For your second point, I'm the exact opposite of the people you refer to as I feel as though the high amount of non-believers is a massive barrier in addition to my disability, my personal interests, and Trust Issues due to constant rejection. Even if I do meet someone who has a lot of mutual interests, I'm turned away if they are not a believer, though I would encourage them to come to Christ at the same time. As far as 6 goes, she admitted to liking me back, but she's discouraged given the fact that we live in different states although we've seen each other in person at least twice.
@johngriffin2133 Жыл бұрын
"BE open minded to people who meet the minimum biblical requirements, but who you are not attracted to...." This does NOT work. This results in people getting hurt. Because you date people that you don't really like, hoping that your feelings change, but they never do, and the other person feels led on and hurt. I do not believe we should encourage men to date women that they are not interested in. It's unfortunate, but we have to prepare Christian men to stay single until God moves and brings them a woman they want.

So all good in theory… but in reality having lived these concepts have resulted in a life of forever still being single (now 45). I’ve proven I can do single, proven I can create a life walking before Him, proven I am willing to work on myself and walk the path…. but I am definitely not in any way naturally made / wanting to be single… doesn’t feel like choosing right has had its blessings. We also have the right to dream and want … it’s heartbreaking and confusing when this is a permanent status. I know so many guys simply not interested in marriage and/or made bad choices 10 years ago and can’t work out their own baggage to have a new opportunity. I’m very curious how old this speaker was when he got married.
@yourstruleigh3323 Жыл бұрын
I can appreciate and I have felt the same in singleness. It's lonely and it's difficult for many reasons, but mainly because we question our value and Gods love because it feels like God hasn't answered prayer. However recently I have been learning from God that He values us more than anything, He supplies our needs and satisfies our desires, not necessarily by giving us our desires or even answering our prayers by giving what we want, but giving us a heart where we can say "..I shall not want". I think Gods love and value for us overwhelms any desire or any need. His grace is sufficient, His love is sufficient, His mercy sufficient. I bring nothing, nor am worthy of nothing, my hands are empty when I come to Him, I am bought with a price, and can only worship Him and try to be obedient to Him. We are not promised happiness or marriage. I bet your life is full of blessings God has given you, if you look, although it may not be the fulfillness of your desires. Be thankful for these blessings. Our God and Father let's us experience suffering or unanswered prayer, because It pleases Him that we trust Him and grow spiritually. It pleases Him and He is showing/teaching us to love Him above anything, to put Him first above our doubts, desires our depression, our sin and struggles. Dont doubt Gods goodness or resent Him for what we don't have, He alone will satisfy our soul and heart, if we but seek Him.
@zacht.9585 Жыл бұрын
I just want to 2nd what the other person said. Being single isn't always easy. It can be a blessing, but it can also be a trial, and there's nothing wrong with that. A mentor once told me that I should be thankful for trials because of the character that God is developing in me. Think of how amazing your testimony will be when God finally brings someone into your life. Think of all the young women you can encourage as they are in their season of singleness longer than they wanted. God has a very specific plan for your life, and if you lean into it, you will find eternal pleasures at his right hand as it says in Psalm 16:11. And even in the meantime, you have the opportunity as a single person to SERVE in a capacity that you can't when you're married and have a family. When you have a family, your #2 and 3 priorities are your wife and kids, but as a single person, you can spend much more time serving the people around you. And TRUST me, the most attractive trait in a man or woman is one who serves wholeheartedly with joy :) May God bless you in your journey!

From my experience and from scripture; based on Isaac and Rebecca, Ask the Lord for YOUR MATE, if you're serious on finding your mate from the foundations of the earth, and I can assure you HE will send YOUR MATE to YOU. That is faith trusting when you pray they will come right away and everything will be confirm that they are from the Lord. There is no trial and error here. Also Jesus told us to guard our hearts from wickedness, not from loving. 💯🕊️🙌

The example he gave for wanting the person that ignores you is wrong. We are all susceptible to good marketing. That's why the commercial and advertising Industry does certain tactics to get you to buy their products. God was simply telling us not to fall for these advertising tactics because we will regret it once we buy into that person and realize that their advertising was false advertising and super enhanced compared to the quality that they honestly have. Like when you buy an Amazon product made in China and in the pictures it looks so good but then you get the product and you have to hassle with the poor quality and returning it and it becomes a nuisance. Then you realize you should've went with the more expensive well known brand that has been proven to be of good quality Or how you see all these KZbin advertisements saying to buy their program now because the deal offering is too good turn down and it won't be around for long. There are more men and women that invest their time and energy in being extremely good advertisers but have nothing to offer than there are men and women who actually have something to offer and invest their energy and time in having something good to offer instead of the advertisement part. God advises us to look past the advertisement or learn all these ways others get suckered into. Nothing to do with past wounds, more like human nature and patterns that are easy to exploit and manipulate
