It is impressive how Sandy's mind works. The speed in mixing all the elements of the story giving they form as they can feel almost tangible. This is awesome material. Thanks Sandy for Call of Cthulhu. Thanks to you we all can have this horror stories bringing to "life" in our TTRPG sessions and you're the responsible of making Lovecraft's stories part of our everyday culture. Your works are an ispiration for our game development, and more personally, I would like to thank you again because when I got into all this in 1994 when I played my first CoC scenario, decided at some point in my life I would try to create something around Lovecraft stories. So many thanks!

This was awesome. I feel like this would be a good scenario to set in the Pulp Cthulhu era in the 30s. Thanks Sandy! This was a treat!

This is valuable stuff! It'll work as well in my weekly game as it will in the Viking-era England horror scenario I'm developing.

I don't want to be that person, but I am that person, so here goes. Firstly, there is a long tradition of telling ghost stories in the British Isles at Christmas, which is what MR James was catering to, which is exclusive from Halloween. Charles Dickens was building on said tradition too. This has, sadly, faded away as Christmas has become a much more sanitised and 'jolly'. Second, there are established Halloween traditions across the UK, but these are regionalised, and have either died out or are dying out thanks to the more 'American' Halloween taking hold, like how imported North American grey squirrels have beaten up local red squirrels. For more details, the BBC Archive channel has a clip on "Guising" and it's worth noting that pumpkins have usurped the role turnips used to play in making Jack O'Lanterns - again, a British tradition.

Fort Knox is not merely a gold repository. It's also a US Army base and headquarters for the armored warfare program. If you want to change things up the players could be US soldiers who are being held in lockup for various criminal offenses. When he Dhole starts digging up they are left locked up and have to find someway of escaping. The whole time the army is actively fighting the Dhole with tanks, air and artillery. This would work better in modern setting. If it's set in the 1920s it will probably be a farce since the US was pretty hopeless at the time.

Maybe the Colonel Chandler is second in command of Fort Knox and secretly in cahoots with the evil Doctor- the players try to warn the Army not knowing they are talking to a villain

If it doesnt start with a auction and doesnt end with a place being burned down, its not a call of cthulhu adventure lol
