Christian, I love simple, direct language, which gets to the point. I had a professor in school. He said he only read for entertainment or learning. He would give authors of books or short stories one paragraph to make their point, and he would give poets two words to make their point, if they failed to communicate in that period of time, he would put the book down.

Language hedonist lol Great interview! Great tips, her book most be gold. For a while people were using "yours truly" to end an email, I always thought it was over the top. I got sick of it. I usually just say "Thanks" or "Best regards"

In this type of letters, I use the name of the project (very often it is the name of the company or corporation or smth like) in the subject field and short describes(highly likely one word) the real reason (initiator) of the analysis in the name of the attached file and I write nothing more. I think it is very convenient.

In my opinion, she is from the USA. Because during the interview she talks that is not common to start to write the email with ”Dear”.
