Who else is procrastinating while watching this video? procrastinating while watching a video on how not to procrastinate (the irony). I have a task I need to do and instead I am watching this... :) But really thank you so much for this video Kharma Medic I really needed something like this where the ideas and tips are realistic and actually work! Your other videos such as 'How I am able to study for 4hrs with no breaks' has motivated me and given me great tips on how I can study and not be a 'wasteman'.

Procrastinating often comes from low energy which in turn is a result from bad diet, not enough sleep and too little exercise. When I feel sluggish I start with drinking alot of water then I force myself to go outside for a walk. That often helps me to get going. Start with taking care of yourself, then you can start with timeblocking and planning. This channel have been such an inspiration and compass for me over the last years because I'we been a world class profesional procrastinator. Thank you!

Procrastinating is one of my biggest issues. I'm trying to build systems within my schedule now that I have a project I'm working on. It's helping that I'm following a 12 week planning cycle too as there's no time to proocrastinate!

Sometimes I procrastinate when I don’t want to start a task I know it’ll be difficult and I’m afraid to fail. Having the discipline to do it anyway bc it’s scheduled helps a lot even though it’s hard! Great video again Nasir 💙 hope your yt detox is doing fine!!

Hi Nasir - thanks for making this video! The point you made about 'not feeling guilty about taking a break' is something I largely struggle with. I have been working towards not feeling this way, and I can confidently say that over the past two weeks where I've been practicing this, my motivation and productivity has gone way up! I feel like last year I fell into the 'study culture' of always having be studying, if I wasn't studying 12/14 hour days then I was a failure. I am recovering from this thanks to your videos, keep up the great work and good luck with your studies

thank you so much for the last part of the video . I indeed was harshly criticising myself while watching this video for all the time I have procrastinated in my life. And I could really relate with the concept of "barriers" instead of being an inherently procrastinator. This is something that I have understood only in recent years, and sometimes I still have to work up to stay clear headed and recognise the barriers instead of beating myself about it . Thank you for the video.

Hi Nasir, I am probably the least productive person I have ever known. If my life was a word it would be procrastination. I just watched like 10 of your videos back to back and maybe starting a productivity channel of my own is something that can maybe help me get the ball rolling and give me some sense of fulfilment. This comment serves no purpose other than to say you inspired me at a time where I feel the least inspired, so thanks man have a good one

But you have just changed my perspective about medical life! It is really wonderful to see how you have cracked the code of balancing, being the top student without missing out on life! Though I am from a non-medical background, I have learned a lot of things about making a balance from your videos! I do this and I can absolutely tell you that it doesn't matter. The amount of stress you are preventing doing this, and the sense of achievement you are gaining will make it possible for you to keep going with your schedule for a long time. This is a last longing plan, for a person who has to study a lot everyday for the rest of their life. In the long run, you get a lot more done, without burning out, and most importantly, being happy along the road. You may be able to squeeze more tasks in one day, but at what cost? If the stress is more likely to burn you out and you are gonna end up doing nothing at all for days or weeks or worse. It may seem like you are being productive, but in the long run, it's setting yourself up for failure.

Break tasks down so you can’t feel fear of failure and therefore start ACTIVE 3:40 putting off task by doing another task. Do those tasks, then can’t procrastinate with anything else. Or 4:10 Allow yourself to do something fun and then ease into work. Oh! PASSIVE 4:40 - putting off task without doing a task Time block, adding relaxing bits and then plan to do work and plan for fun to not feel guilty + be caught in cycle of guilt Break tasks down (so MINISCULY) you can’t feel fear of failure and therefore start (and maybe small rewards) AND MAKE SURE YOU USE REALISTIC TIMES..shorten it A LITTLE BIT. Not to the IDEAL bit you need. + had safety blocks so it’s not horrifically rigid And if you finish your work early..don’t add more work??!! Use that to relax you deserve it! 6:21 GOOD WORK SPACE Also make sure you try to block distractions, eg. Move to a better place eg. Library + know EXACLTY what you will do..procrastination comes with lack of clarity 7:35 Downtime stops burnout aswell 7:55 DO NOT PUNISH PROCRASTINATION (it makes it worse..it’s negative reinforcement too so whenever you think of work automatically you won’t want to do it) What are the barriers preventing you from starting your work? What are th things that are more likely to make you start procrastination? How can you maybe change your environment and other things around you to help set yourself up for success? Oh, and why do you want to do the work! (Think intrinsic motivation) Eliminate the issue!!!
